Not worlds better. The R7 260x is slightly inferior to the GTX 750 Ti (which I have) and it will struggle at 1080p.

Your CPU is good enough to perform day-to-day functions but it will struggle with the Moonhawk. It's comparable to a recent i3

8GB of RAM is better nowadays, the system runs full speed, but don't bother with 16GB

I'd say go a little bit higher in the budget or you'll regret not getting it.

Um, my FX 6300 is perfectly adept at running Beam with 4 cars easily. And I have a R7 260X and it runs fine on an old 5:4 monitor tho. Also, 4GB RAM is what i had before, and it really doesn't matter.

well i am not concerned for the cpu i have used it before and the only thing i am concerned about is the gpu, the thing about budget is that its around $400-$450 and cant go any higher on the budget due to the tax here in new york but i have a 1.0 tb harddrive. heres a link to my build http://cart.microcenter.com/cart.aspx. I can only afford that gpu for that price though.

I cannot say much because my PC is running a Dual Core Worfdale processor...but a 4770K in my brothers computer kicks BeamNG.Drives ass...but that computer was designed to do CAD software on it...

It's not the greatest PC in the world but saying it won't be worlds better is pretty inaccurate, especially when you consider that the OP is upgrading to that from a Pentium-powered laptop (that means Pentium dualcore at *best*, and they're dreary CPUs). Also, bear in mind the fact that you might struggle at 1080p, but that doesn't necessarily mean that the OP is running at that resolution.

I don't understand, I have an i3 and I can run multiple moonhawks no problem... And not on empty gid, but all maps. People underestimate the i3 :p

well my monitor which is about 3 years old runs at 1600x1050 so 1080p isn't that important to me. i have seen a similar setup on my friends rig and it runs battlefield 4 at 70 -80fps at high/ultra settings (the only difference is the amount of ram 8gigs instead of 4) he runs beam.ng at around 50-60fps

As far as I'm aware, RAM makes very little difference in BeamNG (obviously just make sure you meet the requirements), so you should be able to expect similar performance to him. As long as that's good enough performance for you I'd say go for it.

The 6300 is a six-core CPU, so running 1 or 6 cars is pretty much the same. But try loading a T75 and you're gonna have some massive FPS drops.

    - - - Updated - - -

The i3 is the "cute lil' CPU" of gaming, much like the 750 Ti. Once again if you can run a Moonhawk you can run as many as threads you have, 4 on an i3.

Eh, my experience shows the high CPU time requirements of BeamNG really interferes with hyperthreading, it plain doesnt like it. Hyperthreading works best on low CPU demand threads, in some high load applications Hyperthreading is even known to slow down overall system performance.
On my laptop. 1 D15, fine, 2, fine. 3, fps begins to decrease a bit, 4 is then really laggy. i3 dual core at 1.8ghz with hyperthreading (so 4 threads).
