Oh man you're gonna get a lot of hate from this, but I certainly agree that there should be a section specifically for paid mods
Temporarily will not help. The BeamNG community is 1. Obsessed with drama 2. Does not forget things fast So either it gets closed permanently or completely deleted if you prefer such things.
So i downloaded the mod an i have to say, LBE, im sorry for what i've said because this mod absolute fire (im about to bust)
Yea, my point was that In the good old days 2013-2015 as you said, modding was about having fun. I agree with that. But it's not just modders who should be more chill and charitable. That's not the only difference between then and now. It's also the community who used to be more chill, more understanding when a mod wasn't delivered on time / cancelled. Recently I've seen a record high entitlement from the BeamNG community (not everyone, but some) who believe that you owe them something once you've started on a project. That is the reason why the community is worse now than back then.
I get people being disappointed, but jezuz guys! Its one mod of of the houndreds out there. If you so desperatley want it, just pay the 4 dollars for it.
Is it possible that you send a email to all buyers if there were to be an update? Maybe this is already a feature on Gumroad?
This is because now most of the people on the forums are kids and they don't understand the value of work, they just get hyped for everything and want it, as if they saw a cool toy in an ad and wanted their parents to buy it
for my final post on this thread i have a very brief statement to summarize my thoughts. Next time don't bait and switch. if its gonna be paid say it in the beginning and don't make people think its free via other platforms if its not going to be (i have no problems wit paid mods its just when ppl pull shit like this is when i have a problem also i have no problem with LBE i love his work i just do not like what he did with this)
I've been a quiet lurker on the BeamNG forums, but this situation is ridiculous. While yes, Lucas could've been a bit more comunicative about his decision to release this as a paid mod only, I can't fathom how entitled some people can be to expect all quality mods be free. You can't afford it/you don't want to pay money for a mod? Don't buy it! It's as easy as that. You won't die if you don't have this mod. People should get rewarded for their work, and I think that 3,80 euros for this mod is more than adequate.
And Lucas also should not use that weird argumentation. He decided to make the mod paid three weeks ago while the reddit post of it saying that the mod is going to be on the repo was literally made the same time...
