There is an explanation. If they give you 50mb, speed tests will show 47-48 because you will lose some bandwidth due to internet protocols and people will complain that their optical fiber is not delivering 100% of what they are paying for. In Spain some ISPs do it and some don't. For example one ISP that offers 100mb will give you 105 so speed tests will show 101-102, but the other ISP that offers 200mb doesn't do that so speed tests show 194mb aprox.

    General discussion chat

So I just ran into a bit of a problem. The battery in my 9 month old Toshiba Satellite laptop, which is my only computer for right now, has decided it doesn't want to work properly. Basically, it won't even work at all unless it's plugged in, where it works fine, aside from the fact that the battery says it's at 0% all the fucking time. Apparently, other Satellite owners are experiencing the same problem. In the review thing I was looking at, the oldest computer with this problem was about 1 1/2 years old. Somebody had a 3 month old laptop with this problem, too. Luckily for me, mine is only 9 months, so I should still be under warranty. Quick tip for anybody looking to buy a Toshiba Satellite: don't. The touchscreen is shit and the battery sucks ass.

This was Tapatalk's idea, not mine.

The entire satellite range is to be avoided, parents had 2, grandparents had one and the entire school staff had them. Build quality on them is just shit.

As for the battery. It may have overdischarged somehow. That can be rectified but its perhaps best to file on warranty.

My mom had one that ran Vista. Absolute piece of shit. One ram slot failed, battery sucked, performance was terrible, HDD failed two or three times, hinges broke, etc.

I've only had one and I actually liked it. Although it was from the 90s and ran Windows 95. (Satellite Pro something. Was my second laptop. Battery was actually decent.)

Yep, satellites are horrible laptops, my dad had one, the screen started showing lines for no reason whatsoever, heck, even my old Presario laptop had less problems, and compaq is owned by hp, and it ran vista

My G25 steering stopped working, and the optical encoder disk is fine, so it's not that. All the buttons work, even on the wheel, but the steering doesn't calibrate, no force feedback or any kind of detection of steering at all.
    Any ideas?

We might end up taking the firebird engine all the way down to the block.
Originally, we were just gonna replace the rod and main bearings. We did the mains without fault, but we didn't really plan on what we were gonna do for the crank bearings. So we undid all of the caps again, and after quite a while of working, we pulled the crank out. While we were pulling the crank out, my dad dropped a nut from one of the caps down into the engine. We couldn't find it. It fell down below (or above but the engine is upside down lel) the camshaft. We couldn't find it, so we had to take the intake off, then the little aluminum pan that sits under it, which covers the pushrods and lifters. It wasn't there. We decided it might had made it's way under one of the valve covers. Then we took one of the valve covers off, and viola, there it was. After we did all that, we starting looking around, and it was apparent that the valves had a crazy amount of buildup on them. Needs a valve job, which requires taking the heads off. Since we gotta do that, we're debating just going ahead and stripping it down to bare block, getting it hot tanked, and pretty much rebuilding the engine.
The farther this bearing replacement progresses, the bigger of a project it becomes.

I put the rear end of my Corolla back on today. Beat out the damage to the body with the back of a very large ax. It's not factory, but it's better than it was. Pics to come.

Oh, and the battery is really done for. It hasn't held a charge since the first quarter of the Bush administration.
