Yea, was test driving it on Small Island yesterday, the Offroad Version, it was almost overheated, then dumped the rear slightly underwater so the Engine was partially covered, went to check Discord, and when I came back, it was completely cold.

Obviously I tried again, and it actually starts to slowly go down a little, till it reaches zero

At first, I thought this car handled like s***. It understeers like crazy, even the racing variant has bad understeer. Then, I decided to tweak it, and I found that the reason that the race variant handled poorly was because it was running very little downforce. So, I added a bigger rear wing, a front splitter, and retuned the suspension and wheels. (The default config was really bad) Afterwards, it handled MUCH better. It even lost the horrible stability in 1st to 3rd gear since by then the downforce would take effect. Then, I decided to lower the car's weight by swapping in a supercharged V8. (The V10 hit peak power at a really late RPM, and it would probably shred itself) The car is now lighter, faster, and grippier. I tested the car on Circuit de la Sarthe until I was happy with how it handled. I saved the config as 'CS62' (Civetta Sport 62, an allusion to the Brabham BT62 Sports car since that's what the Scintilla reminded me of initially). I might post a screenshot or two later.

Well, I'm already creating expensive pileups...

Fortunately, the dev team has very helpfully included a recipe that makes use of wrecked supercars...

    Yes!

I have to say i really like the new car especially the details like the different usdm/eu clear and red taillights and side markers on the different models for those people that want both versions. As for the deformation modern supercars behave different than normal cars they have high strength steel/aluminum or even carbon fiber monocoque chassis that are much stiffer than normal unibody cars and behave different in a crash but i have to agree that it needs some refinment.

btw it seems like they improved the crash detection system in this car its more realistic and sensitive does that mean it gets improved on all modern cars and they prepare them for airbags? And i really love the rollover detection and door pyrotechnics:)

Did anybody achieve to make a better tune for the race version ? I tried putting the GTXX wiing on as well as the GTRX front splitter, i've tampered with the toe, camber and suspension but i can't make it planted, or at least not oversteer like crazy on corner exit.

For now, the feature seems to be a purely visual one only affecting just the car's interior tachometer. It was originally first hinted by Diamondback in this post.

the issue is that we shouldnt have to do this, why isnt the car just set up well from the getgo, its the same issue as the bolide or any other race prepped config

They probably didn't spend much time tuning it, and spent more time doing jbeam things
It's definitely a bit rushed but it's also probably gonna get fixed in the comin hotfixes

configs in general are not the best, for me its not fun making them as modeling and such so i dont tune them that much, that might also be the case on the civettas and other cars

thats the issue, almost all race configs that have rear wheel drive are just undrivable at higher speeds because they are just not tuned well. Be it the bastion, the bolide group 5, the scintilla race car, the gm track etc.

They need someone to actually tune the configs for them because they havent gotten them right once, except if the car is awd.

We debated making it also actually adhere to that lowered redline, but I didn't want that since it will just confuse people and really doesn't offer anything other than frustration.

I don't think Airbags will come, same goes for things like Seatbelts or Humans, as then this Game wouldn't be the Vehicle Crashing Sandbox Game but instead turn into something way more violent.

That decision makes sense now that I think about it. It would be annoying to drive the Scintilla in a protected mode until the engine warms up, just to crash it a few minutes later, and even more annoying to enable preheated engines every time I wanted to drive the car. Though, it would be cool if the feature somehow found it's way to the UI tachometer in one way or another.

Please please please don't add airbag, adding airbag will make the game less "pure" or "sandbox-y" and worst off all - another kids inflush.

If they ever add dummies or something like that it would be cool but right now it would be useless lag and development time hogger
