Hello, I have been watching this thread for a bit, and it looks amazing! One question is it going to be a ibishu or a mitsubishi, cause i see a mitsubishi badge on it. Will it be like the gavril vertex were there's a lore friendly car and than the irl car? Thanks!
using the pessima engines is a great idea for now, but in complete honesty i would wait for the covet remaster and use those engines if they are gonna be remodeled anyways as for the brand, i would have personally picked hirochi as that alligns more with a fictional mitsubishi brand that ibishu (for example the sunburst being a lancer and impreza combination but mostly lancer)
It will be an Ibishu, the inverted mitsubishi badge is only there as a placeholder, though honestly I forgot why exactly I put it there and why it's inverted. And as for the idea of the Vertex/Focus, I won't be re-badging it to Mitsubishi as I've already made too many changes to the original design to call it a replica, for example the foglights are switched between bumpers, and besides, it being an Ibishu gives me more space for modifications without worrying about veering off the real car too much. I've also thought about using the upcoming engines, but I don't know when the remaster update will come and I think using the current engine is better than waiting for who knows how long, just to put in the engines and nothing more. And I too originally wanted and still kinda want to make it a Hirochi, but as I said, to me it simply does not fit any sort of lineup, and I don't want to make it an "experimental entry to the subcompact class that flopped and only sold like a 1000 cars". The difference between both the vanilla cars and mods of Hirochi is too big for me, as for example all of their cars have more than 125hp base spec, they're all at least a segment above the Colt, and this one may be a stretch, but I don't think anyone that has played the game will think of a low-power, less than 2.0 liter city car when hearing the name "Hirochi". So as much as I regret it, the car will be an Ibishu.
im happy with the new progress and idm using a pessima engine. i also wonder if you could maybe add parts for the rusty config like smoking exhaust fumes and so on
Sure, I have some beater parts planned, but I'm not sure about the exhaust smoke thing, since it seems that head gasket damage and worn conrods can't really be pre-broken anymore. I'll see, maybe I can make it work.
I have a name idea. Because Dodge used a lot of stuff from mitsubishi and Bruckell is equivalent to Dodge in the BeamNG world, How about Bruckell Bolt?
Tbh though, who said Hirochi couldn't have a small city car. Like just because most their cars are high power, I wouldn't exactly call the CVT Sunburst a "sporty" car by any means. I believe they definitely would have a low power car in their lineup, besides its not like this car is "just" 75hp spec. Theres higher power rally versions which fit really well into the Hirochi lineup and not really into the Ibishu Lineup. Ibishu is Toyota/Honda, and Hirochi is Subaru/Mitsubishi. Just my two-cenz For example:
What about - and I know I'm being the single most creative person on the planet, coming up with this - The 2nd gen Covet?
wow, really nice little car you got there, I really like the texturing work, really makes things pop (along with the PBR materials of course, hard to think now how we did without them for so long) can't really be of much help with a name, however I will say for Japanese cars you shouldn't use a Japanese word, Suzuki Kizashi aside look at just about any model from Toyota, Nissan, Mitsubishi ect.. almost always they will use an English word, name, sometimes even French or Italian names. Especially just English words translated to Japanese are the worst, you wouldn't want to buy a Dodge Appliance or Chevrolet Vehicle would you now
This is looking awesome dude, the textures are really clean and i'm in love with the fabric seat patterns. Excited for release for sure
Well, I just found out that yesterday was exactly 6 months since I first posted here. I gotta say, it's been quite a ride so far and I never expected to still be working on it for this long (considering most of my older projects were scrapped around 2 months into making them), but most importantly I wanna thank you guys for sticking with this project and with me, even in my ups and downs, and for giving me all kinds of positive feedback, be it small or big. I genuinely never thought I'd get this far. So, I guess, here's to more good work, and to me finally releasing it! PS: I'll post an actual update tomorrow, with some cool stuff thanks to @Kueso
i really dont understand ehat you are trying to get at here? Hirochi is not an expensive brand and in the lore has only been shown to make two cars and a piano. The SBR is the flagship car of the fleet while still being somewhat affordable and isnt even that fast in base spec. And the sunburst is a cheap compact sedan with a 1.8 and a cvt in base spec. The car is made from cheap plastic and is as fun to drive as a shoebox filled with moist pig. It feels and fills the exact same gap as a mitsubishi lancer or subaru impreza or even corolla sedan! While yes, in comparison the sunburst still makes like 125hp yes, but then again the car is about 10-15 years newer, power demand will always climb, especially for a car that isnt even in the same class as the sunbust but instead a subcompact i feel like it will fit just fine as a hirochi You could get both of these in 2003, just saying. --- Post updated --- its also important to note that you should name this whatever you want instead of worrying what people are expecting power wise from a brand (even if that is not the case)
Im really glad im not the only one who thinks this. This mod looks super amazing, but Ibishu doesn't fit the car at all. I think Hirochi would be a fantastic fit for the points outlined in your post. Hirochi is not a performance brand, its a car maker who makes rally cars, sports cars and mass market economy cars. So Hirochi fits this car really well imo.
