yeah so i did it myself nevermind, you guy's go back to simping, idk it literally look like 5 minutes enjoy or not *don't open the soft top couldn't be bothered to fix it
nobody's simping here..? All we said is lucas isn't obligated to fix it, which you can clearly see, he's just busy with other things or unmotivated.
lazy modder accused of not updating his mod (which isn't outdated by any means, mind you) like he is legally obliged to do during his exams tragic
This is exactly what I personally am starting to seriously dislike (hate is such a strong word) about the general community of BeamNG. I much prefer the ways of 2016, where a lot of people using the forums just generally seemed way less childish. Stuff has changed here in the last 6 years, and it's not for the better in a lot of cases. Your message is quite literally spot-on. Modders are NOT legally obliged to keep their mods updated. Modders CHOOSE to take up countless hours out of their lives to make something beautiful for a game they're passionate about. People just don't seem to respect that particular aspect anymore. Are you mad that we didn't update that one mod you love? Fine, sue us. Your problem, not ours. Countless really passionate modders have just straight up quit making mods altogether because of the basic lack of respect and understanding some communities have. You have NO idea what we have to go through on a daily basis, and you don't wanna know. So instead of accusing us of not updating mods like we're legally obliged to update them (mind you, we're not), think about thanking us for making the mod available to you in the first place, let alone for free. I'll let you in on a hint, even modders who only make paid mods aren't obliged to update them. Companies dump support of products all the time, why can't we?
Modders don't have to su Modders don't have to update their mods 24/7, even if they spend a lot of time on them
i disagree on one point, if a mod is paid and updates are claimed they HAVE TO GET UPDATES there is free mods that get cool updates regularly, so if there is a mod that is paid but doesnt even get small bugfixes thats just a complete sham to me
I would say that a paid mod is not required to get frequent updates that add content, but at the very minimum it is required to atleast keep the mod working after every game update. If the creator fails to maintain the mod in a working state at some point in the feature he then should make it free.
What are you trying to prove ? Of course lucas could have done it but he choose to not because he has other things to do.
if you don't have a time machine to undo losing my grandfather then i would suggest shutting the fuck up about that mod
I don't know about you but there should be at least be obligation into announcing that the mod is at end of life (meaning no longer being worked on as a product) or that their mod is out of date. Almost all companies announces these and either take their products off sale, introduce new products to replace them, or fix them. Granted, this is not me saying that the modder is obligated to update the mod, but paid or free, but they are obligated to inform the user/consumers about the state of the mod. I don't think paid mod is required to do any update especially if the magical words are used (when applicable): As for making the mod free: On one hand that statement is for show and there's no legal basis for it. On the other, they actually file for copyright. Granted it should be international and in theory copyright expires. But that would take 70 years after the modder dies as a rule of thumb. It would be a very long time or possibly never before a paid mod is ever free.
This is a moral thing that you're mentioning. I was talking about technicality. Modders technically aren't obligated to do anything, not even informing users about the state of a mod. Emphasis on almost. I have seen plenty of considerable fortune 500 companies drop support of a product without an announcement.
if im paying money for a mod, i want it to be supported, and updated. if you think otherwise, than you are wrong
Except when stated on terms of service/use of the platform they are selling on. Also yes the almost is there on purpose.
I don't think otherwise. I'm just saying that there is no obligation to. Yes. Though most folks who have their mods available as payware tend to use their own websites, allowing them to end support on a whim because there are no platform terms to deal with. Luckily, most payware modders are passionate enough to keep their mods updated. Let's end this conversation here and now, as this is beginning to have nothing to relate to the ETK K-Series anymore.
