You know, those are some really good arguments. There's not a lot known about Hirochi, so who knows if they made a car like this. I'm gonna rethink the branding choice, maybe hirochi isn't as out of place as I thought. But anyway, here's some more progress: As planned, I've swapped the 96 Pessima engines into the car. This isn't all copy-paste though, I've moved around some parts and remade others. You can compare the pictures to see the difference So, let's do a rundown of the engines: Here's the 1.3L SOHC one, with the valve cover changed a bit Here's the 1.5L DOHC, though with no changes to the orignal model And now here's the goodie: The 1.5L engine fitted with SR-TEC known from KLJP. I've "collabed" with @Kueso for this one, and huge thanks to him for giving me the idea of a Mivec replacement, fine tuning the engine, and over all for being such a helpful guy. Like all the SR-TECs this engine has a custom torque curve and custom sounds, though this means that from now on the mod is dependant on the KLJP Core mod for the engine to work properly. Also like the KLJP, it recieved some SR-TECNICA parts, like this custom ITB intake and red valve cover. But these aren't the only performance parts, I've also made some for the rest: Here are the NA race parts - a race intake (which includes slapping on a cone filter) and custom long headers for more power, And here's the turbo, with a changed air filter as the one from the Pessima was too high up. There is more to it though: The stage 2 and 3 turbos have the stock intercooler, While the stage 1 has this tiny custom one, as it's a small turbo. Coupled with this are the new stock exhaust parts: The sport exhaust (on the right) also recieved a new shiny exhaust tip, based on the original Colt: While here are the race parts, with custom heatshields where the fuel tank is: I'm still not sure about the twin-exit one. Feel free to share your thoughs on it. So that's about it for now. Taking these engines was a lot more work than I thought, but now the car looks better then ever, so I guess it paid off. And to finish this off, here are some amazing pics of the sporty Cyborg ZR, or rather the GTz Robot trim, taken by Kueso Enjoy!
first of all thanks for considering! second of all i cant wait to play with this! this is one of the most promising mods to come out this year, really impressive @Kueso 's technica system really adds to it ^^
holy crap this thing looks so good. im really in love. as for the branding, im really conflicted, as i think hirochi makes the most sense realistically and frankly i think hirochi needs more cars but it looks so good with that sr-tec paintjob. if it were up to me id probably still go with hirochi but come up with some lore reason as to why it shares some engines with ibishu, but it's really up to you. either way, i love love love the looks. i have only one suggestion - it'd be really cool if this thing could have a tiny V6 engine, as i believe the real life mirage did once come with the smallest V6 ever produced (a 1.6 i believe) either way, awesome mod. good luck!
Yup, feel free to suggest! Thanks for the kind words! And yes, the SR-TEC is incredible, you really do feel the car squat down when it kicks in! Thanks again! Don't worry about the paintjob, I'm pretty sure it will be easy to change it to something like "hiro-tec", and about the shared engines, I think I could just make it a brand partnership to save money, though I don't think those collaborations took place in the 90's as much as they do now. And as to the V6, right now it is on my "planned features" list as an addition to the LX Monarch. I'll probably keep the 3 inline engines for now, but you can expect it to make a debut sometime in the future!
Thank you so much for considering. Some amazing progress there. I can't wait. I took my picture about Hirochi making economy cars from the Wiki, which is generally regarded as the most correct lore as far as im aware. So I believe Hirochi would be a good choice. Those PBR textures and those skins are looking great, Lucas, Finn, Theo and others have some competition. Top work
What about "Ibushu Pulse", "Ibishu Osaka", "Ibishu Avanza", "Ibishu Lance", "Ibishu Samba", "Ibishu Alto", "Ibishu Blitz", "Ibishu Merit", or "Ibishu Suzuka"
1997 Hirochi Sunburst Hatchback, since Sunburst was based on Impreza and lancer. and mirage itself is the other name of lancer on some markets
To be fair, the original Covet is based off a similar age Suzuki Swift so calling it the Covet wouldn’t be out of the question since the Covet gets branded as allsorts anyway
No its not, the covet is nothing to do with the swift. Its well known the inspiration for the Covet is a 4th Gen Honda Civic. Ibishu mimiks honda and nissan quite closely. Plus this car isnt even a Suzuki Swift, its a Mitsubishi Colt/Mirage
Hey again! This week has been quite busy for me, so I didn't have as much time as usually to work on the car. I still managed to put some things in, so let's go over them: First off, not really an addition, but a decision. After a lot of thinking, I have made the choice to re-badge the car to be a Hirochi. I've gotta thank @Nacho Problem and @ByteGuy for showing me that Hirochi really does fit and that it's entirely plausible too. This has really opened the gates of creativity for me, as now I won't have to "comply" with the existing Ibishu lore. I've still not decided on the name of the car though, but I have come up with a few options, namely: - Hirochi Catria - Hirochi Noma - Hirochi Mistral I'd love to hear your thoughts about them, so feel free to comment! Now, to the real deal: Race parts i've spent this week mainly on making them, so allow me to show what I got: First, the race suspension: It's fully custom and almost fully working. Based on the Vivace, it's a double MacPherson Strut setup, giving an extra ~5cm of width. It's not exactly perfect, but it's still a massive difference to the stock suspension. Next up, rollcage: Also fully custom, the design is mostly based on the 200BX one, with features like the grab handles taken from the Pigeon. And new wings: There are now 3 of them: one for rallying, one for track racing and one for "general use" The new Nomi GRX is essentially a recreation of the Vivace one, as it's design - mostly the tailgate panel mounting - struck something with me. Now, for the more tame features: Mudflaps There are 2 types of them - one is a factory plastic one, while the other is a custom rally one, with the Hirochi logo painted on top. The rally ones don't flap around like the Bolide just yet, but that "functionality" is in my plans right now. Next, the retextured 1.6L engine: I've picked a different design this time, using black paint like in the real Mivec instead of the flashy red paint. The SR-TEC from now on will be called HI-TEC, thanks to Kueso's idea. I've also replaced the Tecnica lettering on the manifold to a more generic quad-throttle one, as I felt like that it would fit better. And the rainguards: There's not really much to say here, just regular plastic covers. They will come in standard on the GXL trims. Speaking of, here's the current list of all configs to finish off: That's all for now, enjoy!
Thanks for suggesting, but I'm not really sure about this - jbeam-wise it should be pretty easy, but I'd have to make some new models to fit the driveshaft and differential. For now, I'll keep it FWD, but if I make a remodel or a remaster somewhere in the future, I'm pretty sure I'll add it.
