Where did my mods and settings go?

I had tens of gigabytes of mods in my BeamNG.drive/0.24 folder, along with some very heavily customized settings. The game tried to migrate my data to 0.25, but botched it. So I deleted BeamNG.drive/0.25 and copied everything in BeamNG.drive/0.24 into BeamNG.drive/0.25. But... the 0.24 folder is missing tons of valuable data. The two important ones are mods and settings. I had tens of gigabytes of mods and very custom settings and now all that is seemingly gone. Where did it all go?

Edit: All my custom configs are gone which is a very huge issue since I've put many many hours into tweaking my own cars. WTF BeamNG!?

I updated from 0.24 to 0.25, not from 0.21. My previous folder was BeamNG.Drive/0.24 and the new one is BeamNG.Drive/0.25. All that stuff was completely deleted from the BeamNG.Drive/0.24 folder and wasn't moved into BeamNG.Drive/0.25 even though the game said it was.

Luckily I rememberd that I sometimes make backups to another hard drive, so I was able to get all my stuff back. But the game shouldn't even be deleting files until the user has verified that the trasition worked.

This is even worse than what I had, in my case the game simply said that the migration failed and did nothing, and here it just DELETED all of the data, what the heck

Did you change the location of your Userfolder earlier?

Could you please try to search in your system for such files:

    -beamng.log
    -beamng-launcher.log

The location of BeamNG.Drive has always been where Steam and Proton puts it by default.

I have a few beamng.log and beamng-launcher.log files; for versions 0.23, 0.24, and 0.25. All three version roots have them, and then 0.24 and 0.25 have 2nd ones in temp/crashReport. Which ones would you like?
