now i understand why your name has "bait" in it anyway can we actually talk about the picnic and not start the 2938585329583th fight over it
Haha. Yeah fair enough. I do really like the car. Only thing I wish it had so far is morettes and a sport intake. Like a cone filter one.
Downloaded the demo version. been looking for a 106n't in BeamNG for ages and here it is. Its crashes great and handles convincingly. I can left foot brake the hell out of it and when i fail, it folds like a 106 would. The visuals are gorgeous. There is however things would keep me from purchasing it, even if i did have the means rn. Both of the engine options included in the demo are unrealistic, and it makes me worry about whats included in the paid version. The 1.3 SOHC engine is making ~20-25hp too much, i dont think youd expect more than 70hp from a pedestrian 1.3 from a city car. Yeah there was the 106 rally 1.3, but if thats what you went for it still needs 1000rpm more power band. The 1.4 DOHC diesel makes appropriate power, but it has peak torque at FIVE HUNDRED RPM. at the very earliest that should be 2000, realistically probably closer to 2500. Im not talking out of my ass here either. Sadly i have no experience modding BeamNG, however i been making engines in assetto corsa for quite some time now and everyone who comissioned one was stoked with them. Ima look into how Beam handles engines, and if i can get the hang i might just shoot you the files. The engines have been my only gripe with this, this is a 10/10 mod with those fixed
1. The demo has only been out for a few days. he paid mod was released a few months ago. so your comment about you waiting so long for this mod to come out of demo doesn't make sense. 2. It's only $4
i disagree, on with the first point. a 1.3 could absolutely make 70 hp i.e an 1.4 peugeot 206 makes 75hp so a 1.3 can make 70hp
Reading comprehension my man. Im saying it should have ~70hp. It has 94. Im half way through fixing it though! -Edit- fixed the 1.3 now, 106Nm at 3400 and 67hp at 5800. basically what the TU3 did fuel injected minus 100cc displacement --- Post updated --- This was actually quite fun. Got around to the diesel too its now TUD3Y spec, never knew these things developed peak power at 5000. Spent way too much time but its kinda worth it those feel proper euro-commuter
I never said I had been waiting for so long. I said I was eagerly waiting. Seeing the demo made me assume they was a full release to come. I'm not one for reading the mod descriptions so didn't realise there was a full paid version already. Anyway like moses said lets not start the 2938585329583th fight over it.
i wanna say the clio is more covet sized but i agree on the design element. it captures the french design language of the period really well.
Hello, an update is planned for the paid version? I saw that the demo had a change for the light diffusion of the headlights and there is a small light for the license plate
made a TU5JP. Could someone with the paid version show the base 1.6s torque curve? Im really curious how close i got it -Edit: TU1M done. its the 96-00 54hp version my grandma had and its very nostalgic -Edit2: I gotta stop hyperfocusing on things its 5am. Anyways. the engines now have a choice of the "Cherrier VTi" longblock, and long intake runners, both shifting the torque further up the rev range. Also a very early 90s turbo developing 0.6 bar, and an adjustable rev limiter. heres the 1.1 at max shove
Overall, this is a VERY high quality mod. I do not regret spending those $4. However, there are a few things that I believe would make it just about perfect. 1: A skid pan for the rally config would be awesome. Because I made my own gravel version of the Group N and literally anytime I hit a bump, the oilpan gets damaged. Side note, the Picnic Group N looks really good on 14x5.5 Autobello type 1s and rally tires. 2: Nitrous injection. I built a drag version using the 2.0 DOHC and it's actually really damn fast, since the thing weighs just south of 2000 lbs. But, it would definitely be a world killer (maybe a Covet killer tbh) with the option for nitrous. 3: There were only two things I had minor problems with. The rest of the mod is just absolutely great. the engine sound is just, crispy, the interior is quite honestly better than a lot of the dev cars, and overall, the thing's just fun since it's so damn light. this has been a [REDACTED] Review with your host, [REDACTED] Energy.
I see the reply to my review, you welcome. I probably better elaborate. When i say real life counterpart sure that includes the TU series which im basing my own engines off, but in a more general sense the whole category of 90s eu econobox engines. None of them made that kinda specific power output with a single cam, not peugeot volkswagen Fiat, unless you're talking sporty versions. Those made that power at higher rpm though, and were limited production runs
