I think I'm seeing something of a Sunburst vs. Moonhawk schism developing here in terms of which car ought to be next on deck for a remaster. Before this goes any further, let's remember that the Moonhawk is the older of the two, and the one that received a new component in the last major update (the retconned 1973-1975 rear fascia). Based on that, I'd say that the Moonhawk seems to be the vehicle that the dev team is planning reworks for next. The Sunburst is probably not too far behind - though let's not forget about the Miramar either!
Personally I feel that the oldest one in the list should be remastered first as it's the oldest in terms of technology.
They might be remastering them in order of having the most serious issues. I mean the Gavril vehicles literally had body not separable from the frame and worked like unibody vehicles so it made sense to remaster them first. The second stages of their remasters were only because people were unsatisfied with the first phases. Bolide also didn't have a correct structure, having been a full body on a full chassis instead of separated into pieces and subframes. Pigeon was the worst quality overall and felt like a joke, didn't need much work though as it doesn't need that much content, so they added the Wigeon too. The Pessima had next to no content and was a terribly boring car, had a full hillclimb aero kit available but the available engines were nowhere near powerful enough to use it. Similar situation with the LeGran, except it didn't even have any aero kits, it only had a fake luggage rack spoiler. Plus the LeGran made sense to remaster at the same time as the Wendover was added. The Covet remaster has been a long time coming as the interior textures are probably the worst of all cars currently, even worse than the Moonhawk ones, in some places there are no textures at all but just flat matte black color. Maybe the content update it received, as well as Jbeam overhaul of the doors, was originally planned as part of remaster but they couldn't make it on time, idk.
I hope that this Tuesday will be a teaser Tuesday and I guess the next one (whenever next teaser tuesday is)will be about the covet again. But I would really like to see more about the etk k so we get more information on whether we only get some new parts like the ones we saw in the teaser or whether it’ll be a full remaster. I wouldnt be surprised if it was, as there have mostly been 2 remasters in all of the recent updates, unless there was a new car. Anyways, I’m so much looking forward to the update
It would also be quite cool to get Anti-lag for the cars and/or the ability to color the stitches and shimmer of the carbon bits the Arensic interior has, the green doesn't fit many colors.
An anti-lag system would be great but a Rally ECU with the idle set at about 2000rpm would be great too. Hearing the Vivace Rally twins idling @680rpm is a bit off. Also, this ECU can be put in the 5-cylinder parts selector too, it would make that engine sound lovely in a custom Rally Vivace!
That's an interesting theory, though it does bring up the question of the Miramar, which, at the time of this writing, is the only body-on-frame vehicle that is still equipped with a unibody-like JBeam structure, and is comparatively lacking in content. The team did add PBR interior materials and new interior colours in 0.24, so perhaps things are starting to move on the Miramar. I'd personally put the Miramar ahead of the Sunburst in terms of the remastering schedule, but there does seem to be a lot more community interest in having the Sunburst updated. We'll have to wait and see what happens.
I don't think the Miramar is a BOF vehicle, even if it's got a solid rear axle. After all, there were many cars in that era that had a monocoque construction and a solid rear axle at the same time - and one of the most characteristic ones was the FIAT 124. Maybe the construction patterns of the floor make you think of it as a BOF car. In any case, the Miramar and the Moonhawk had some nice PBR updates (and complete ones too, not half-done, which is important) but ok, they're still lacking a lot of content, from bodies to powertrains to features. Their remasterings will come sometime in the future, so we have to be patient. As for the Sunburst, there is a lot of interest in it indeed and that's because we (or many of us, at least) want to see what engines the car will be getting after its remastering. Many of us, me included, want the car to have Flat engines because they will be making the car and the whole Hirochi brand stand out in the BeamNG lore.
So for now we know: - Covet remaster - ETK K-series remaster - Sunburst Remaster ("The blue car on photo look like sunburst but have different headlights") - And maybe Dry map
Yea, but that could mean remaster as well. Why add only new headlights to car that needs remaster so much.
Agreed, it has almost no customization. Where's the Gasser with the 423 swap? --- Post updated --- Seems normal to me, you guys really think every picture taken by the devs means something
Turn lights are orange. looks older. And from some updates we where getting 2 remasters and new car. This update was different. Only remaster we hear of was Covet, so as we see on picture sunburst maybe was getting remaster too.
I can't tell if the rear pillar is a different shape then the car in the foreground. I was wondering if they would add a WRX STI kinda thing with the hatchback, the headlights kind of match?
It's the placement of the car in relation to the setting sun which makes the edge of the right headlight seem orange. It's just the reflections of the setting sun on the right headlight, nothing else.
Miramar is supposed to be unibody, idk why there are frame-like textures on the underside, probably a mistake
