You make automation mods look good! How long did it take to make the fully destructible house? A lot of work editing the flexbodies, removing them from groups, changing nodeweight, beamstrength I imagine. I've only done some minor work with actual jbeam, mainly I made the front end of a mod crash better by adding more nodes and a whole new part to deform but that was it lol
It actually took a lot less work than you think. Back when automation first implemented 3D fixtures, I challenged myself to make a car body with them. I fit them around the general shape of the body I was using to guide the shape of the body I was making. I accidentally found out that this made the body "destructible". I made several versions of the car, but I never got around to releasing all but one of them. This made me wonder if I could make a destructible house that was potentially drivable. I did the same thing as before but I used a RV body to guide fixture placement. It was nearly drivable, but the steering was inverted and I somehow broke the steering completely on the final 2 iterations of the design. Because of that, I just gave up on trying to make it drive and deleted the suspension Jbeam files. I had planned to do more destructible mods, but a few days later a patch was rolled out that made this impossible to do as it made every fixture placed anywhere in or outside the car static with a more basic jbeam. There is a download link for the destructible car on my progress thread (3rd page) as well as some development progress of these projects
I wouldn't usually get involved in stuff like this, but I'm both curious and bored. What do you lot think about me?
what do yall think about me? ive only been here for 2 years and 1 of those years I haven't really been active, but yeah open fire on me lol
This is one of those threads that starts okay, but quickly goes downhill. I have popcorn at the ready.
