Update Speculation thread

I know this is silly. BUT depending what they do. I will love a late 2000s early 2010s SUV version with a Boxter diesel lol

 

Keeping the existing I4s along with the F4s in the Sunburst is difficult because the I4s of the car are mounted transversely, with the gearbox right next to them, while the F4s are mounted longitudinally, with the transmission behind them and under the firewall, in a space specifically designed for it. It's basically the SBR4 and Piccolina powertrain placement, only inverted. In a few words, the devs have to do either one or the other.
As for the lore, it's certainly gonna be improved since we've never had a car with a front-mounted Flat engine design before. Plus it's gonna do the Hirochi brand much good because the SBR4 technology will trickle down to the more humble vehicles like the Sunburst and it's also gonna help the brand acquire a specific identity (ETK the I6 brand, Gavril and Bruckell the V8 brands, Ibishu the I4 brand, Cherrier the I5 brand, so Hirochi can be the Flat engine brand).

Yep, a Midsize Sedan/Wagon and a Midsize SUV based on the same chassis would be great. The 2.0/2.5 F4s, the F6s and the Boxer Diesel have a lot of potential for such cars. Plus, we've also not had front-mounted Flat-engine powered cars like these up until now.
And why not a Pick-Up Truck too? The F4s, the F6s and the Boxer Diesel would make for a large lineup of variants in this car too.

I've also made a lineup of the Sunburst variants with the existing F4 engines and engine states of tune plus a couple of new F4 engines for the Base variant.

• 1.5 Base (1.5 NA Flat-4, 105hp, FWD, 6-spd Manual)
• 1.8 Base or, for differentiation purposes, '1.8 L' (1.8 NA Flat-4, 135hp, FWD, 6-spd Manual, optional CVT)
• 2.0 S (2.0 NA Flat-4, 175hp, FWD, 6-spd Manual, optional DCT)
• 2.5 Sport (2.5 NA Flat-4, 211hp, FWD, optional AWD, 6-spd Manual, optional DCT)
• 2.0 Sport S (2.0 Twin-Turbo Flat-4, 300hp, AWD, 6-spd Manual, optional DCT)
• 2.5 Sport RS (2.5 Twin-Turbo Flat-4, 350hp, AWD, 6-spd Manual, optional DCT)
• 2.5 Sport RS S2 (2.5 Twin-Turbo Flat-4, 450hp, AWD, 6-spd Manual, optional DCT)

 

For me, the Sunburst should've had smaller engines than the 1.8
The base engine in the Subaru Impreza of that age was a 1.5 F4 making around 105hp (from memory). Perhaps we will see slightly more realistic engine choices, as the devs have typically seemed to focus more on fast versions than realistic ones in the past

 

It's true, the 2007 generation of the Impreza had a 1.5 F4 with 105hp and this engine was part of the first 3 generations of the car. Actually, now that I think of it, there are some reasons an engine like this can easily coexist with the 1.8 F4 I proposed:

1. The Sunburst is a car small and light enough to be decently moved by a small engine, so the 1.5 makes perfect sense for those who want a cheap version for point-to-point commuting.
2. The existing Base 1.8 I4 has 137hp and the 1.8 F4 I proposed has 135hp, so that's plenty of room for an even cheaper Base version. The Base version can keep its basic character after the remastering, it's just that it can now be offered with 2 engines - the 1.5 F4 ('1.5 Base'), for those who want a cheap point-to-point commuter and the 1.8 F4 ('1.8 Base' but it could also be called something else, like the '1.8 L', for differentiation purposes), for those who want the same point-to-point commuter but with a bit more power and the optional comfort of the CVT.
3. For continuing the second point, the 1.8 L can be distinguished from the 1.5 Base by its exclusive CVT availability. In other words, since the 1.5 F4 is the absolute basic engine, it can only be available with the 6-Speed Manual, while the 1.8 F4 can be offered with both the 6-Speed Manual and the CVT.

 

Found the GT7 player

450 hp for a factory config seems a bit much to me tbh, that could work better in a street tuned or trackday variant

 

And a Rally variant too.
But yeah, you're absolutely right. 350hp from the 2.5 Twin-Turbo F4 is ok for the highest-performing factory Sunburst, which is the Sport RS. I just thought "Why not?"!

 

not to mention it's the size of a mid 90s impreza/lancer, and they were quite common with 1.5s

 

I wonder if it would be possible to add motion blur in the photo mode. It would really change the game up

but i saw the video from ermz and thought to myself "hmm that would perfectly fit the old pessima and give the bolide a rival to race against"

and you cant tell me it wouldnt fit the pessima

 

While aesthetically it would fit the basic lines and patterns of the '88 Pessima perfectly fine, I think a SuperSilhouette racer would be a much better fit for a longitudinal RWD car. Let's not forget about the fact that the Pessimas are FWD/FWD-based AWD cars with the engines mounted transversely while the Skylines have always been RWD/RWD-based AWD cars with the engines mounted longitudinally. So a RWD/RWD-based AWD Ibishu model made in roughly the same time period as the '88 Pessima would be the perfect fit, I think.

There are also the I5-powered IMSA GTO race cars and the I5-powered Group B rally cars, for which some 80s Cherrier models would be the perfect bases. After all, a historic lore continuity has to be created within the Cherrier brand itself so we can understand how and why the modern Cherrier models feature an I5.

 

Haven't been here for a while, what is the current speculation?

 

sunburst remaster/update, old pessima remaster wishes, new fire simulation discussion (for exhaust n stuff), etc.

 

clears throat.. Talking about a Sunburst remaster. I would almost beg for a late 90s/early 2000s version.

 

I mean, real cars like the evo got some special versions with around that kind of power (see the FQ-440MR), plus the vivace got pretty close with it's special models too

that has been there since the release of the K series.
it's nothing more than a dual exhaust and some badges.

 

When the Sunburst inevitably gets its remaster, a crossover based on its platform would really go a long way to filling a missing gap in the vehicle categories nicely. Much like the Tograc to the Vivace

Granted this is more of a suggestion than it is speculation.

 

Hirochi desperately needs content in general as well. The textures on the sunburst are questionable, and the SBR4 can only give so much before you get bored with it. Most people don't even know the piano exists. The brand has loads of potential, and its kind of a shame that the newest vehicle (in terms of release date) is from 2015...

 

Same for ETK, that's why the K Series and hopefully the 800 will get a remaster. ETK also needs new content like a lore-friendly X5 or even an i3 or i8

 

It would be unnecessary but neat to have some sort of playing controls for the piano. Other instruments would be nice to have too.
