You're not wrong, though safety generally has the OPPOSITE effect of inspiring excitement, which is kinda not the best thing for a video game I personally don't mind that they're 'there' at all (besides drive space taken ig), I'd just rather see the work go into cars that I actually want to interact with, or more customization / body styles (wagons!) for existing cars. The 'cheap car derby ' theme of the early days appeals to me much more than the 'general vehicle simulator' that they're going for now; I can respect that a lot of work goes into simulating the various modern technologies, but as I don't care to ever interact with them, it's just wasted effort in my eyes, which I'd rather see go into damage-related tech, like paint scratches, plastic cracks, dynamic glass damage, etc... dirtiness too! Even something as simple gradually overlaying a static dirt texture based on distance traveled on dirt would add a lot more to the game in my eyes than all the modern cars ever did. Mini-rant over
yup, ive been having this too. vulcan gets me about 50% better fps but is buggy and always seems to crash. amd users cope i guess
vulkan is really inconsistent for me it either runs basically equivalent to directx (eg still not that good) or literally drops to like sub-30 bemng fix optimisation pls
lol we have pretty much same cpu and ram and not too different gpu and your result is so different beam moment
If minor updates count, then the one that literally only added those white lines on crawler scenarios and nothing else, no new content, no fixes, most useless update ever
I get it but the main focus of beamng is realism and crashes, and also we only have 2 or 4 modern cars depending on what counts as modern.
You've got to admit that the "and crashes" part has taken a bit of a back seat in the recent years... K-Series, 800 series, SBR4, those two weird deformed french things, the names of which I don't care to remember, Bastion, Scintilla ... hm, that's everything that comes to mind, but defo more than "2 or 4", and a good chunk of them are fairly recent additions - I wouldn't expect the train of modern cars to be slowing down in the future, surely they'd want to put all that fancy electronics code to good use
i'd have to say..... 0.25.5 if minor updates count. literally just fixed an input bug and doesn't do anything for the 85% of us that don't have a wheel
The thread has been derailed into people's personal rants and heavily subjective opinions, which is normal i guess, because objectively it's hard to define what "worst" is, but if I were to say, 0.24 was the most controversial But it is not controversial because it is bad, no, it just stirred the most frustration in the community. BeamNG playerbase has been spoiled with great updates and punctual support seen in very few companies, thus when bng devs teased so much and released little in their initial 0.24 update , community went full baboon. Devs did apologize for it though. One of the more controversial updates I remember was redesigning old cars to make them less flat, most hated new moonhawk's redesign and etk800s less bulbous ass
