Apologies if this has been posted elsewhere but I haven't had any luck searching for it (though perhaps I'm just using the wrong phrases).

I'm wondering if there's a way to reassign the part of your vehicle that the camera(s) will "follow" by default. For example, in the gif below, if I wanted the camera to follow the cab of the jeep (or, ideally, the dummies inside now that they're part of the body) instead of whatever nebulous chunk of the vehicle's frame that the cameras default to.

    Is that possible? Thanks!

It's not possible but would be cool if it was. (Well technically you can do it but it will have so many disastrous side effects that it's not worth it at all)

then OVER TO THE SUGGESTION BOX I GO

but also if you want to elaborate on the "how" one might go about causing all those disastrous side effects... :)

The camera center is where the refnodes are, and they always need to be at the center of the vehicle, they need to be attached to it at all times and need really precise geometry. Nothing about this fits the dummy. They affect not only the camera but lots of other things like traffic behavior, wheel angle calculations in ESC, vehicle reset behavior, etc. Having a wrong setup there ruins the whole car.
