I would kindly disagree. Jbeam is probably one of the more important parts of a car, as before it was in 2012 standards. Configs can be added any time, but what makes good quality model a model is also its jbeam
i personally gotta hand it to 0.24, since it was broken right out of the getgo with the game being unlaunchable for some since it wasnt signed properly upon release, and the bastion was underwhelming to say the least - with gavril engine sounds and somewhat underwhelming handling and peformance for such a hyped update. + they changed the UI so it had a learning curve like no other.
Almost every update made the game initially unlaunchable for some people, it's a really common problem, and usually it's related to having special characters in folder names and stuff
On the topic of special characters in folder names, is it possible to create a file called con.pc by saving a config called that?
the one that redid engine j beams and broke all engine mods i forget what it was --- Post updated --- the sunburst is not french
idk if this counts lol, but i havent really disliked any update other then 0.24, but the worst one imo will be whenever the 200bx is remastered mostly cause of the amount of mods that will be broken lol, and its my most used car soo yeah lol
In my opinion there hasn't been a "bad" update, but there have been several underwhelming updates. The most underwhelming update that I can remember is 0.7, which added two campaigns and the ETK test center. The campaigns were honestly underwhelming, and the ETK test center felt unfinished. +1, things just haven't worked right on my hardware since 0.21, but something that helped massively when trying Vulkan was switching from borderless windowed to fullscreen.
The only big features added in 0.14 were the track builder and lightrunner, both of which nowadays seem to be the most forgettable and commonly ignored parts of the game by far so I'd have to say that one was the "worst". I feel like people who keep saying the latest couple updates seem to have entirely forgotten about anything more than about a year ago or are too hung up over having pure large quantities of big new things, yeah the bastion or scintilla aren't everyone's cup of tea but they have 10x the features, quality and attention to detail that a car added in 2016 would have. The complaints about remasters seem a bit stupid too, yeah they don't bring entirely new content to the table but they stop half of the game's content being unusable in the modern day and that's probably important to the game in the long run.
I don't think all of them are bad I just want more beaming betas on steam because I would love to play them
Worst update: 0.24.0 unable to truly return to the main menu, more memory leaks(fixed later) Best update: 0.25.0 added oversteer reduction assistant, which makes otherwise difficult to drive high powered RWD vehicles much easier to control(for most non-drift RWD cars use 130%).
I'm surprised no one's talked about the bolide remaster. not a bad remaster, but it pissed off the entire modding community. renaming super.zip to bolide.zip caused every single bolide mod to break. easily fixable, but some abandoned(but working) mods were broken right after the update. caused a lot of outrage. even then, devs refused to revert the rename. by far the most controversial update.
Who told you such blatant lies??? THE ENTIRE CAR GOT COMPLETELY REMADE FROM SCRATCH, ONLY SOURCING SOME SMALL TEXTURE PIECES FROM THE ORIGINAL, THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO WAY ANY MOD WOULD HAVE WORKED ON IT AFTER THE REMASTER. THEY RENAMED IT TO PREVENT OLD MODS FROM BREAKING THE CAR. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING ABOUT IT IS EASILY FIXABLE AND THERE ARE NO MODS THAT WOULD BE WORKING AFTER IT. Try adapting a pre-remaster mod to the remastered Bolide, nothing in the 3D model lines up at all and the Jbeam is completely different so it has to be redone from scratch to work which takes a few days at best if the mod is small, and you are expecting it to just work without any changes. Also who do you mean by "the entire modding community", the only people I've seen angry about that are some kids crying that their favorite 7 year old mod that is older than them broke.
There is a legacy bolide mod that has the bolide from before the remaster. It has the file named super.zip so old bolide mods still work. As for the worst update content wise, probably v0.10 as it didn’t add much else besides the new sounds and piano. Also same with v0.14 as it only added the light runner tracks which I haven’t touched since the update. The most controversial update will have to go with 0.24 as it was rushed with the bastion getting delayed plus the new ui which had a ton of problems.
