Hey. The small trailer for the Gavril D- series is really cool. I love towing, and have been waiting for that. One thing though. The van (H- series) also has a tow hitch.. but it can't tow the trailer! It would be great if it could!
And maybe all the other cars as well IMO...:D

Also I am loving the recent updates. Game is amazing. Even works with my G27.. Love it!

That won't be possible until we have universal .jbeams and the ability to move .jbeam parts (the tow hitch is physically in a different place).

With that feature I'll also be able to make an extended cab D15 (I'll be able to just move the bed back)

Won't that mean you'll need another chassis? because wouldn't that make the wheelbase longer, most of the utes sold in nz, shorten the bed to make an extended cab or crew cab.

Yes, the frame mesh will be different (extended by 0.5m), but that's it. The entire rear suspension assembly, bed, taillights, tailgate, etc. will simply need to be moved, rather than duplicated.

Then it will have exactly the same wheelbase as my PickupFS mod :p
Anything else you're planning to make regarding the D15? I'm expanding my mod at the moment, creating parts you already have planned to create will be a waste of time, as my mods won't have near the same quality as parts made by you :)

For now, just an extended cab, and probably a dually rear axle (like the H45) along with a tow truck upfit.

So I assume you'd call the dually rear axle the D35? D45?
Do you plan to also beef up the frame to a 1 ton/1.25 ton, depending on whether it's a D35 or 45?

Again, just like the PickupFS mod :p

The tow truck, is it like a rollback or a wedge back car hauler? Both are WIP, I'm not going to put more effort in it if there's a official version planned. ;)

I actually wanted to try modelling a spectacle lift for the D series, haven't bothered yet as a) I can't model too well and b) not sure it would really work in BeamNG.

I thought of such a lift as well, as a separate bed but also as a extra part for the wedgeback bed. Most of those wedgebacks have such a lift as well. But I'm not going to make one if Gabester himself has one planned ;)

My main concern for the spectacle lift is wheel straps. When being towed by that sort of lift, the forces applied to the car are rather different and I think without the wheel straps being possible I reckon the car would just bounce straight off the spectacles at the slightest bump. The rollback/wedgebacks do alright because the car is sat there on a flat surface rather than just 1 axle being raised.

I wish the D15 looked that weathered in the current build.

Yes. The lighting engine had more polish and the material editor was more flexible.

That said, the cost of BeamNG would have likely been over triple the current cost to cover Crytek's gargantuan licensing fees, and the effect on performance would limit the demographic.

Edit: Also, the weathering on the vehicles was removed for the release build. The vehicles do still have a dirt texture in their folders, they just simply aren't applied to the vehicle's material. There may be some threads on how to reapply it.
