Hi, I've recently discovered (thanks to @Steelorse) this promising github project that have a huge potential for BeamNG engines sounds Because i'm not very good at English, i let this video explain this for me: Original creator video: Steelorse video: (explain how to change engine type in the software) Github link to download and test yourself: https://github.com/ange-yaghi/engine-sim https://github.com/ange-yaghi/engine-sim/releases If we have to possibility to extract and compile the sound to a readable language for beamNG, that can be an huge improvement for existing engine sound and an opportunity to have many new one. Let me know what you think about this. Have a good day!
This could be used for replicating the sound of an engine and precomputing it for a car, or even better, doing the simulation liveon a thread. (Also exciting would be to use the simulated 2D engine to animate 3D cylinders in the 3D motor but at that point you've exploded project scope x)
To prevent performance issue from a real simulated engine sound, you can also record the engine sound in all desired ways, under all conditions, and export tje result as a classic sound file.
why do you people keep talking about this so much theres been like 4 threads of this. this is an awful idea and would probably make the game run even slower
Because it has massive potential for generating engine sounds without needing to record an actual vehicle. People have already managed to export sounds to Beam using this too
