Hello Community, I've been trying to create a color palette map for a skin but I keep running into an issue with white borders showing up next to objects on the base map. (see screenshot) Right now I'm creating the palette map in Paint.Net by converting the base map into an alpha map then using that alpha to remove colors from the palette map. I could go back and fill the gaps in manually but that seems a bit too tedious. Is there a tool or a process that the devs or skin authors use to create the palette that would prevent these white borders? Let me know if you need any more info. Thanks.
I noticed in a few other skins that the palette has some transparency but the base is fully opaque on a white background. I'm just worried about the text appearing too pixilated. There's a plugin that can remove opacity in Paint.Net. I'll try that out and let you know.
Looks like that's it. I was able go get it looking better after a bit of adjusting. Still though, it doesn't seem like it should be this annoying to get it looking normal. I still don't get how Beam devs and other folks get their palette skins looking so good. It might be the way Paint.Net handles .dds files or it could be a skill issue. Either way, it looks good for now. Thanks for the help.
Just a quick final follow up. I was able to solve the excessive jagged-ness by using .png images instead of .dds. Looks like Paint.Net overly compresses dds images.
