Hey! This is our beloved Ibishu Covet that received it's remaster in 2022.

This little japanese hatchback accompanies us for many many years already - It is available in a trusted and tested FF layout as well as a super spicy midengine rear wheel drive setup in its "MR Turbo" form!

The Covet has been a favorite of mine since it's release. So glad to see it getting some love! It looks amazing, I've only just scratched the surface with trying out the new configurations. Thanks Beam Team for the awesome update, was a nice way to start my Monday morning ;)

It's beautiful, but JDM trims naming is very weird

I thought the remaster would be small like the Grand Marshal one, I was wrong thankfully. There's a lot of improvement and extra content, this car deserved it! Finally good interior textures especially!

Absolutely amazing new update, but i have one tiny complaint that's kinda stupid, the descriptions on the new covets look kinda.. rushed, i guess
But i don't care because this update is so fun

Way better than the Bastion and Grand Marshal descriptions
    "Taxi version"
    "V8 police cruiser"
    "The cop who bop"

Overall, I'm loving the update. The MR versions really do accurately capture the feeling of the real life cars they're supposed to mimic, with the challenging (fun!) handling and old-school turbo lag. Some suggestions though:

    • A car of this age would usually have separate indictator / corner marker light assemblies, rather than them being a "one piece" unit together with the headlights. Also, it would be nice to have the lights in the front bumper in their own slot, with base versions omitting them and just having blanking plates.
    • Realistically, rear disc brakes should only feature on high performance models. The rest should have rear drum brakes.
    • Seeing as we have the Italy map, it would also be nice to see a European version with an even lower-powered base petrol engine (1.0 SOHC I4, 45-50hp?) and an old-school NA diesel like the Peugeot 205s etc.
    • 5-door body. This would tie-in with the suggested Euro version really well. I realise this would be a ton of extra work but some of us like to create realistic configs as well as "sporty" ones.
After re-reading my post, sorry if it sounds ungrateful but that's not my intention...I'm just enthusiastic about the seemingly infinite possibilities! :D

Whoa! I didnt expect it to be as much of an improvement as it turned out to be.
But my eternal question still remains, how did we endup with cars that have extremely detailed everything, but no back illumination on anything besides the gauge cluster? I know it seems minor but its not like its that difficult to implement or that it would have that much impact on performance, right?

The devs have addressed this in another thread, it's an issue with the understeer reduction tool. If you turn it off it should work and they'll patch it in future at some point.

Any reason why it doesn't have a roof scoop? I mean none of the other rally cars have one, but I think it could have been welcome on the MR Turbo
    10/10 otherwise

Edit: Oh yeah, Group B didn't have them actually, my bad

the JDM config names are sort of strange ex; "15SE" are they supposed to be like "1.5 SE"?

Some little missed detail: JDM wiper is for LHD spec? Can be fixed using additional windshield (RHD).
