Im willing to bet we get a new map in 0.27 because we’re going on 4 years since italy. Also, not to create conspiracy theories but this comment was left on the industrial remaster vid. Weve got a modern muscle car in 0.24.1 and a supercar in 0.25. Could he be correct a 3rd time?

I mean in that case that makes what I'd say is at least a quarter of the BeamNG community a prophet.

I was lurking around, as one do, to see if i could do some slight changes to graphic things. Found this lil gem which is new but not afaik in use yet (cant find that its loaded)?

    upload_2022-9-27_20-9-45.png

GTAO (and this was XeGTAO so a edited one), some really good ambient occlusion:
    https://www.activision.com/cdn/rese...rate_Indirect_Occlusion_NEW VERSION_COLOR.pdf

The vanilla AO was changes in 0.26 but i only think it was the actual settings from 0.25 that changed.

This could mean were in for even more nice graphics stuff when that Vulcan works as the devs intend

I would be so happy to get such a nice upgrade over the grainy mess current AO is.

More info what xeGTAO is here: https://github.com/GameTechDev/XeGTAO

Hopefully they are also implementing TAA alongside this to help with denoising because GTAO can also look noisy as hell without utilizing proper measures to combat it.

Finally, all the "Imagine if BeamNG and GTA V had a crossover" comments can be put to rest

GTAO is used as Ambient Occlusion since 0.25. In 0.26 I changed its sampling radius, and other dev added a feature that allows different radius in the car interior, so it's not too black. So if you switch the camera between orbit and driver, you'll notice a smooth AO transition.
A similar "hack" is used for logWeight. Shadows in the interior are crispier, at cost of longer distance shadows quality.
There is no TAA to filter it (another technique is used instead) so you can see the sample noise

We removed color correction completely in 0.25, because it was creating issues with HDR.
