Hello, I am working on a big project of getting the older video-style main menu into 0.26. I tried the mkv files that were in the 0.14 game files but the new version of the game won't accept it. It only shows a black background. --- Post updated --- Progress: I changed it to a GIF file (pronounced JIF, fight me) and It works. However, it is compressed to shit. --- Post updated --- also while I am screaming deep inside, enjoy the suffering of some dev found in the mainmenu.js file
little off-topic but is there any way to make new menu backgrounds without overwriting game files? I would want to start adding them to my mods

Im not sure at this point. I still am doing some digging. It will be a massive file as the wmv to gif converter I used thought It would be funny to make each on 500mb in size. --- Post updated --- For some reason when I used the gif as the menu screen, It decides to run (the whole game) at 2 fps until I start to load into a map.,
I can physically feel this pain. AngularJS is responsible for 90% of the time I spend bashing my head against a wall wondering why my custom UI refuses to work like I want it to.
What's even worse is that there are so many leftover files from older versions so it makes it so hard to decipher which is from old versions and the current one
Whoops, thanks for the heads up. Those old videos will be removed in a future update, as there's no plans to use them ever again, they're currently just sitting there, unnecessarily using space in everyone's computer
