So I'm trying to convert one of the LHD cars into RHD, but I'm struggling with it; specifically because of the needles and the pedals, moreso the needles. How do I perfectly line the needles up? If I mirror it in blender or if I add a minus sign before the number, it shows on the opposite side that it's supposed to. Is there a way that I can keep the exact position of the needles yet move them to the other side perfectly? Thanks.
You can use the negated number for baseline values.... For pedal swapping, number location for brake pedal can be left as-is. For clutch and gas: Original LHD gas = New RHD clutch and vice versa. For speedometer, it's bit complicated, but use that principle for rearrangement. Example: Original LHD RPM = New RHD Speedometer You also might gonna need to readjust if necessary. If object has origin of 0,0,0 , convert it to Geometry based Origin (right click > Set Origin > Origin to Geometry) for easier convertion. Afterwards, convert it back to Center based Origin (right click > Set Origin > Origin to 3d cursor)(if 3d cursor is 0,0,0) Note the UV mapping, do not get it flipped.
Hello, So I tried to convert it to center based origin and it results in everything being oriented towards the center; even the steering wheel's movements. Is there any way that I can fix this?
The steering wheel & the pedals are in wonky position, that is what happens to the steering wheel when you make a turn
Ah, I see.. Technically, you will need to apply "all transforms" in the blender after you make some change and adjusts the props position in the jbeam file too.. (Which sound a bit advanced, but other people's help me to do that so..) And here's how I attempt to make one... As you can see, it has a lot of issue to deal with my Legran RHD like the gauges and so on. Same thing with my RHD Wendover but it's look much better than the Legran one. (which has an issue with the steering wheel being flipped after I started exporting them for the first time) That will help you at least.
Not yet, because I want to make sure that are mostly working (and don't mind about texture issue for Wendover tho, cuz it's mostly done)
Hi, Thanks so much for the help. I found that to apply transforms select the object u edited, and press Ctrl+A>All Transforms.
