Hmm, so launchpad like this? Or more like this to try to jump to water? Maybe it would be possible to have this kick pad positioned there:
Yes. The object is to get into space by whatever means. If you have to add a kickpad, ramp or even attach rockets to your car.
Your AI drives into trees because you have the decal road's nodes spread too far apart. Those are the little squares you see when you're laying out the decal road (each place you click when you lay it out is a node). VS taking and adding lots more nodes and messing up the road making corners imperfect, there's another solution. Remove all AI from the road(s) in question first, by setting AI use to 0 in the decal road editor on each one. Make a 100% transparent (invisible) AI route on-top of the existing road, with a lower priority number so you can adjust the AI route as needed. All of my maps have invisible AI texture if you need it but I think if you fail to define a texture manually for the road (aka don't change it from defaultdecalroadtexture when you first make a roadway), it should stay 'clear' and invisible. So when you lay out the invisible road, make it so that it has plenty of nodes especially around corners and such, as AI will drive node to node directly. So the tighter the corner, the closer the node spacing will need to be. Same for hills, as you crest hills and make your way through depressions in the road (troughs), use more nodes whenever the angle of the hill changes. If it's a straight road that doesn't have much of a grade change (angle of ascent or descent = grade), you don't need so many and can space them further. Change node spacing gradually, don't put a bunch together and try to then have one a half-mile away, otherwise the roads do wacky things, invisible or not (that applies to mesh roads and rivers, too). When intersecting roads, make sure to have a node for each road where they cross in an intersection, so the AI can change routes properly. Divided roadways should have separate AI routes on them. Don't forget to set one-way only when needed, and make sure to set the amount of lanes you need (a regular road with one lane each way is default). This will make your AI work like a charm. Just don't forget to turn off your old AI on the old roads first, otherwise, it still might cut corners and hit trees! --Cheers.
Sorry for posting on month-old thread, but i really want to see a updated version of this map, with full AI support and updated ECUSA/some WCUSA assets.
rexregum93 updated Cascadia U.S.A. (4096 X 4096) with a new update entry: Big Update Read the rest of this update entry...
I tried to run this map for the first time and got the following errors. My computer is not a super-runner, but it's not exactly a potato either (at least I say so "humbly"). I've had no issue running the larger maps like Roane TN, Los Injurus, So-Cal Highway, Generic City, etc; so it struck me as odd that this one, that is relatively small at 6.5 sq miles, would offer me grief. I disabled all other mods except yours. I rehashed files, but DID FORGET to clear my cache (didn't think that should make much difference). Finally, I optimized files on my computer's antivirus device to try to clear more space. Finally, the errors managed to knock my GPU out temporarily, and blacked out my 2nd display screen. Fortunately, restarting the computer fixed all that. Question-- Why might this be happening with this one map? Any suggestions you might have would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time.
It's probably one of the maps affected by the unexplainable memory leak error, which can't be fixed because even the author can't open the map in this case. It's a very rare bug but it has happened to some other maps too.
Thank you so much for kindly replying and giving a detailed answer. That makes so much sense now that you say it. I'd like to add additional information to the mix that may help explain this further: I cleared my cache, and when I tried to open that map again, it finally let me in, only this time there were no textures, roads and trees were orange. Odd, but at least I got into the map.
Then the map is also outdated, because it's pretty old and I assume it used to use assets from the old version of Jungle Rock Island or another remastered map that got removed later and now those assets are gone so the textures won't work. So it's not even worth trying to fix that error if the map itself is broken too.
damn i was having the same problems. This map looked super cool too, especially bc i'm from washington. To bad its outdated.
Sorry, but I had to rate it a 3 out of 5 in the review section for two reasons. There is MASSIVE lag! (With a RTX 2060 and 32GB RAM no less!) A HUGE amount of missing textures. And this is when I try to play it through the repository in-game! The only saving grace is that i saw it in a YouTube video and it looks good, that's it. Dated: Aug 8, 2020 By: FrizEris
