Love how there are next to no decent free vehicles being developed right now. Paid mods have completely ruined beamng modding in less than a year

that's only partially true... in the last 3 months we got the C-series from Vibestation, The Claria from LJ, the Mistral from Kajzer and i'm only talking about things that got on the repo... but it's clear that there will be less and less free quality content because everybody does want some piece of the cake

filter the land category by WIP, and then think about what you just said

There are generally less high quality mods overall too, because the quality standards have skyrocketed over the years, especially since the vanilla remasters started

I can't blame anyone that is trying to make a few bucks as long as it is their work. And this is HIS work, he has every right to charge for it. And so does everyone else who produces their own content. LJ said he would offer a free demo version. Also no good free mods? KJLP is free and adds a ton of high quality content. Maxy's Crown vic is a great free mod. Don't talk like its the end of the world because some creators have monetized their creations. I have tried modding this game, its difficult and time consuming. Plus every time there is a major update it breaks shit, so you have to go back and fix it.(Nothing against the developers) This is on projects that you may have invested months in and are probably sick of. The main reason quality of current creations is failing is the kids running around say the newest meshslap's are better than projects that have 100's of hours invested in them. It is damn insulting if you ask me. So if you produce quality, then hell yeah get some bread for your creations.

well you cant be looking properly as there lots of free high quality mods out there. The dev quality stuff is paid and I think they should be paid (depending on the quality of course) as the devs of these mods are not being paid for the time producing these mods unlike the beamng devs are. Yes the modders are doing it on their own free will whether its a hobby or passion for the game but I believe the time and effort they put in gives reason to paid. think of it like this, these mods are roughly £3-4 and a skin on games that serve no purpose except look good set you back £15.

    this looks really nice

considering the global financial state, I don't think people should really be blamed for wanting compensation for their work on mods. I feel like almost everyone has had financial difficulty at some point recently

Literally none of those will ever be finished
    Solution: Job
Fair enough, but I'm talking moreso about modding going forward. It's safe to see those will be some of the last decent free vehicles we'll ever get.

I can guarantee at least my lego car will be released at some point, even if I don't quite finish it (meaning I don't add as mamy customization parts as I want) then I'll release it as it is, it's already drivable anyway. And probably the same can be said about many other mods there.

(from the view of a modder)
Oh no, it seems I need money.
I want a job I enjoy and something I know how to do
Hell no to McDonalds and department stores
Hold up, people like mods... If I sell them, that could be my job.

Boom, job. Problem solved. If I had the modding skills to do it and mode good mods, I'd sure as hell sell them
Many people here don't deserve them anyways.

Edit - I do see your point, though. It's kind of sad to see that free mods are rare now.

I have no doubts about that, but 90% of mods never make it past a basic model or an idea. Generally only a small portion of mods actually get made.

That's why generally a thread is made after significant progress is already done and the author is almost sure it will be finished. It's not always the case but like 25% of those mods will probably get finished at some point.

Paid mods aren't exactly killing the modding community, my next mod or maybe 2 mods will be free because I plan to make a couple real cars
And I think it's ok to ask for a lil bit of money in return for my hobby, tons of hobbies includes some sort of income. Music, photography, art, writing, game development etc. If you don't want to pay for it or if you cant afford it then please don't, get the free demo instead.
