Which is really sad in my opinion as there are enough racing sims for each nice but no other simulation sandbox like Beam with day-to-day vehicles and daily s***boxes to cruise around or just have fun smashing them to bits. Im really sorry for you all guys but personally i dont really like the route BeamNG is moving right now and i just hope they give love to other vehicles types when they are done with their planned racing oriented stuff. Its just not my cup of tea but im the minority here otherwise we wouldn´t get all this motorsport stuff.
So ahead of whatever we are teased tomorrow I just keep thinking how weird it is that they´d remaster the K-series when it doesn´t need it at all in my opinion (sure it could crash better, but take a look at the Moonhawk or others), just some new configs. I do think the 800 looks pretty aged and would need a remaster, maybe not from scratch but adding new bodies and such. Here are the interiors: 800 The Kseries still looks sharp IMO. I think we keep talking about the ETK remaster but those two aren´t in any way on the same level. I guess the devs know that and wouldn´t "waste" their time having so many other things to do. Not to mention the need for new cars like a Minivan or more SUVs. And then there´s the I series which drives sooo good but has looked aged since day 1 I believe, I think the design is overall too simplistic compared to the actual BMWs of the time. What I believe will happen is that they have been working on remastering the 800 and will create some more content for the K series. The Christmas update almost had the Covet in it so I suspect the car design team had a bit of spare time to work on things we might not have seen yet.
Yeah i couldn´t agree more with ya. To be honest i think they will will focus on the whole ETK department for the next remaster. i could imagine they´ve been working on the K-Series & 800 Series together since they share atleast most of their parts while still working on the I-Series to fix it up for good. Atleast i hope so because yeah the I-Series is FAR more in need of a remaster then having a K-series bodykit and maybe some raceparts. We have enough motorsport content for the moment so it would be pleasing to get another proper remaster over it first. The Covet was a good move and they should continue on that path with remastering reaaaaally dated cars as there are plenty of them left.
Just my two cents, racing doesn't have to mean performance. When I played FH4 with friends, we had the most fun trying to max out vehicles and tuning them as best as we could while staying in D class, then racing against each other. So basically low performance vehicles but tuned to perfection. Much better than some hyper car races where people were just flying through tracks and making mistakes wasn't all that detrimental since nobody can drive accurately at these speeds and power levels. With low performance cars, every corner was important and making a small mistake could take multiple good laps to correct. We created various different cars that all had their pros and cons. Shorter gears / longer gears, worse handling but more power / better handling but less power,... Every bit was important, from weight to grip to power to aero to tire pressures... each car truly felt like a project. Most fun I ever had in a racing game. I know this is not speculation, just wanted to contribute to the discussion.
Yes! Thats what always has been the fun for me in the Forza Motorsport games been! I dont wanna have prebuild race cars even though its fine we get them but now that there is plenty of it ingame give me more standard vehicles with aftermarket parts selection to tinker this grocery getter/momride to perfection! It would be double trouble since we would get road vehicles to just enjoy driving down the highway plus getting the option to turn them into relatively cheap track tools handmade by someone with a filled bank account and some sophisticated tools in his garage. I think you guys can follow me close enough even though my argumentation is a little vague on what i mean but Cyan37 described it pretty could and i would combine it with my wish of normal roadcars to cruise around in!
Is it some kind of holiday for the devs today? No approved mods today and no teaser as of yet as well...
Teaser Tuesday! fire truck! https://twitter.com/beamng/status/1587464459689332738?s=61&t=0U9iVD1a4sizWihGxbKQGg
beamng content creation seems to have seriously accelerated recently, they keep teasing things that have no links between each other, so much different content is being developped in the same time !
Don't think it's a fire truck but I could certainly be wrong... It is, however, a 6x6 offroad van! Check out the snorkel, side exit exhaust, and the size of that double length rear arch! Construction looks to be from the 60s or 70s if I had to guess, and the design is European. Screams UAZ 452 to me, even though the actual design is wildly different, the basic shape and heavily utilitarian design feels incredibly similar
Ehhhhhh don't know what to make of it tbh. Maybe it means that 0.2x will bring some update to how fire behaves/affects cars? Looks like an ETK fire engine to me, don't ask me why. Just has this old Mercedes look to it.
