To steer a little bit back to the truck: I do hope i gets a regular four-wheel variant too. 6x6 sure as rain is gonna be fun times but i hope for variety!
A simple 4-wheeled version with large diameter thin wheels (ideally equipped with tractor tires) would make great sense for farmwork, especially with a regular cab and rear bed. Plus, I'd like to see how wide such a version of the truck will be because lest we forget that the Unimog was specifically designed for farmwork and, more specifically, to fit between two potato plants, for greater agility.
Yeah, i´ve got no doubts the thing will be the embodiment of modular! Would just make no friggin sense otherwise to get such vehicle ingame.
It may be a ugly car but I'm about as hyped as the guy in the vid. This will drive completely different than anything we currently have in game and very likely bringing a totally different engine and drivetrain setup as well. I could even see it get a bus version, or a even safari bus with seats in a roofed bed for watching kangoroos
As i mentioned before im convinced that this thing will be the most modular platform beam has ever seen. The very embodiment of variety!
I hope the new off-road truck has military versions as well, because some of the trucks that it is based on has a military version. It would also make it our first official military vehicle as well.
The D-Series has a CUCV-esque variant so we already got our first one but yeah. I think it will get this aswell but i already stated that many times in my recent posts. Most likely if its a ETK it will be a Bundeswehr variant.
Thats a really flat argument. There would be nothing wrong with a military grade offroader which simple job is to conquer heavy terrain. It doesn´t even have to be a troop carrier.. It easily could be material transport or even a military ambulance which is a good example of a military vehicle.
Yeah these things are pretty dope. We have a pretty prominent guy here in Germany in the Westerwald who has contracts with with the U.S Army. He gets their surplus n stuff. he restores all sorts of US military vehicles like HUMVEES, REOs and stuff. He got a TV show here too thats where i got my thing for these vehicles they are really awesome!
Lucky you! In general, I noticed that Germans and Dutch have a love affair with American cars, especially the old ones. I was in the Netherlands for a year and the town I lived in had plenty of them, from classic Cadillacs, F150s, Stingrays and Jap-style Fox bodies to modern RAM Pick-Ups and even some 90s C1500s, one of which was a Stepside, and some Navigators! The first American car I saw was a C3 Corvette Stingray opening the taps just after the roundabout and it was the first time I ever heard a V8 from up close!
Yes especially East Germany where i grew up (i live in West Germany now) they have a strong affiliation for american made motor vehicles! I guess it has something to do with our soviet past since after World War 2 when Germany was divided. Guess you want what you can´t have.
Yes, one of my teachers in the University was from East Germany and, in a conversation of ours, she traced this American-mania down to Soviet hypocrisy. You wanted some kind of methadone after all that disappointment. On the upside though, East Germany is very strong now. It's got factories from BMW and Porsche (with the famous Fahrzentrum) and even the football team of Leipzig is quite a powerful one in Bundesliga (at least that's what I heard a couple of years ago). Now, coming back to speculation: could an armored version of the new truck be made? I'd like to see it!
An armored version would be quite nice so we have another heavy brick to smash into other cars without falling apart itself!
