I'm sad that I was too young to know this game existed when this version came out.

 

The visuals had a certain charm that I feel is lost in the newer verions

I wouldn't say that. One thing you miss just watching videos of older versions is how strange it could behave graphically, especially with lighting. This game has really never stopped improving.

When I bought the game you had to know commands to open a pallet wheel to even change the color of your car lol.

closest you can get is using Techdemo V2 to recreate it, and even then you can still only drive the Covet.

 

There was a 0.3 techdemo

 

yep just nostalgia, i found this game about a year ago and damn it only improved nonstop since then, and this is like from 2012 or so

The only versions available are 0.4.0.6, 0.14.something, and 0.23.6. Not a lot of options.
