It’s definitely not the D-Series, it’s a new truck. There’s a small chance that it’s a modern D-Series, however it’s more likely that it’s Bruckell or Japanese(I’m partial to Bruckell).
A Baja map is certainly even more deserted than the teasers with the gas station we saw of the new map. The teasers at least had a gas station and a piece of paved road. A Baja map would quite possibly have neither of those. So yeah, it's referring to the Truck, for showing and describing the version we see in our screens.
What evidence does anyone have to say there's an entire new truck, this could easily just be a dedicated off-road machine to go with the theme of the update. Manage your expectations, I don't want to hear a bunch of whining when there isn't a modern pickup in the next release
A Baja map could certainly have roads and gas stations lol. I don’t know where you get the idea that it wouldn’t. Plus with a Baja/Nevada map you could in theory have a system of teleports that lets you drive from WCUSA to Utah which would be extremely interesting imo
I could definetly see that gas station being a "last gas for 200 miles" sort of deal. I think something "middle of the desert" would be too empty for the team's needs but we clearly are getting some kind of desert content Maybe something like this? Town on the edge of the desert with mountains in the distance?
To simplify, beam has never done a vehicle that ONLY has a race variant (if you want to read more look at the discussion from a few pages back)
Idk. For some reason, despite the apparent geographical differences, the Oman Desert came to my mind - and it really is huge, especially its sand dunes. But yeah, the teleportation system would be an interesting idea, although it seems quite challenging at first glance. That's the most plausible scenario because gas stations in such places are known to be hard to find. But yes, being truly in the middle of the desert would be somewhat boring for us and it would also limit the Devs' imagination on what they/we can do with it. The town on the edge of the desert seems much more logical because both the Devs and us have a reference point, especially if there's also sea next to the said town. Makes perceived orientation that much easier.
I don’t think we’re getting a new truck I think it’s a dedicated space frame that’s gonna be modular/pave the way for other motorsport dedicated chassis (maybe new Vehicle UI), as for the map I think it’s an expansion of WCUSA.
tbh i don't mind, I think a race platform would be cool, but the issue would be that different motorsports require very different chassis like a space frame truck only has so many sports attached to it, and any idea that one vehicle can be like 4 different cars with different chassis is ehhh
the new map might be baja, might be baja BUT connected to WCUsa... if the latter is true, WCUsa will be and feel not huge but instiad, colossal, but less room for baja. however if the first is true, that solves the problem of less baja space (possibly). the map looks really big based upon the distance those mountains are. i hope this update isn't rushed.. oh and, take your time dev team, happy holidays!! wouldn't want to wait 4 months for a underwhelming update, i'd rather wait and see the best update for christmas ever!
Almost 100% sure it's not Small Island USA. I was wrong when I speculated that the Gas station is for Small Island, this is a different map that shares the same assets. (just like ECUSA and Hirochi Raceway and the Derby map used to share their assets before the remasters- same trees, grass, buildings etc.) Perhaps, Big Island, USA?
Alright, let’s get speculative. No evidence, just guesses. The truck is a modern Ibishu since we don’t have modern pickups, modern ibishu, or a Japanese pickup. The map is a Small Island V2. The resemblance is too uncanny to miss. But seeing the caption, Baja in C Major, I think “C” refers to California, where small island is canonically located, and Major means… well… big. So the new map is big island, USA. This is completely a guess so when I’m right, I become a dev.
At first it looked like Small Island USA to me, but the map felt bigger in the video. It might be the new map that is being teased alongside a new vehicle, which is rather interesting - it might mean that the map and the vehicle is nearly ready and likely in the phase of final touch-ups and beta-testing. Also, it is pretty interesting to see the emphasis on the word "Baja" as it likely refers to either Baja motorsport event in Mexico, or Baja California, also in Mexico. We might actually get a map set in Mexico, which would be pretty exciting. Not to mention the fact that the most vehicles that we got teased (I mean, specifically for off-roading use) are sort of the vehicles that you could see in the Baja events - SCORE Class M Truck (The fire truck teased); SCORE Class 5-1600 (Autobello off-road variant that we have could fit); SCORE Stock mini (Off-road D-series and Roamer, maybe Hopper too); Class 5 (Teased Autobello off-road buggy) and Trophy Trucks (the new pickup truck), so that's pretty interesting. But it still concerns me that we only saw a fuel station thus far and it had American-style fuel station prices. Besides that, I think we might have pretty exciting Christmas this year.
I think it may be the roamer in the clip. If not, maybe a Bruckell truck? Wouldn't make sense though, we've only seen a trophy style truck in the teasers. Considering it looks almost finished, maybe a soon drop. But with the piano music in the background, maybe no dedicated engine yet. Looks cool.
i think the car in the video is a mitsobushi tiaton ute judging by the colour the map is obviously utah looks like an extension, possibly from the tunnel? the triangle skid plate is aluding to the fact its a rotary, that's why they kept the sound quite (sneekiy) the lack of exiting from the engine shows that is partly a highbird the space for the head lights shows how the truck is a real race car (lighting maceen) All and aLl this is going to be a very amazing update, cant wait for v0.28 /s
