Update Speculation thread

The real question is, the truck will be Gavril or not and if it be Gavril it will be D-Series? We don't know about this yet, I guess.

 

So I went looking at the trailer and the sponsors intrigued me. So I went looking at which car were sponsored by Nomi and Folk. And surprisingly I only found one car/livery that had Folk and Nomi as sponsors. Only for Nomi they were a lot more, but no American car. So if the sponsors don't change this truck will be the second car in game with both Folk and Nomi and if it's really a Bastion it will be the first American vehicle with them (but it wouldn't be the first time we see Nomi sponsoring a baja vehicle)
Also I don't know what's written above Off Road, maybe team?

 

I would find a Mexican map really cool, although the way gas prices are displayed in the other teaser tells me USA, especially the "9/10" after the price. If they intend it to be mexico then they used the wrong type of sign for the prices. this is how gas prices are typically displayed in mexico (i know its a low quality pic but its literally a screenshot of google street view):


About the truck, I personally think its going to be a new Hirochi compact or midsize pickup, late 2000s or early to mid 2010s, don't really have evidence other than nomi being a prominently displayed sponsor, other reasons such as:

• We have no Hirochi truck (or japanese truck in general)
• we have 8 Ibishu and only 2 Hirochis
• We have no smaller pickup trucks than the D-series
• We have no pickup trucks more modern than 2003

I also want to consider the possibility of an compact or midsize SUV based off of the same platform and with the same engines, in similar fashion to the Cherrier FCV platform, reasons being:

• we have no compact or midsize true SUV (Tograc doesn't count because it's a car based crossover)
• We have no japanese SUV

 

I don't know if anyone noticed but there is lighthouse far in the background of this teaser map.

 

Ok we're reaching Dark Souls lore levels of theories but hear me out:

This antenna is obviously the asset used on West Coast, reinforcing the possibility that this will be California more than Texas. My guess is Mojave desert north of Los Angeles, where the famous WIllow Spring circuit is located. I checked this area on Google Maps, and what do I see?

That's indeed what I said in the post too - fuel station in the teased pictures show American-style of displaying fuel prices, which adds to the confusion and uncertainty of where the map is actually set. But then why put such emphasis on the word "Baja", a Spanish language word. It just adds more things to speculate about. Maybe it is set in California, USA (the English text and American-style fuel prices) or could be Mexico, likely Baja California (Emphasis on the word Baja and the fact that a famous (also named Baja) off-road motorsport event is happening in this particular part of Mexico and includes most (if not all) types of off-road vehicles that BeamNG has to offer right now and will offer in the future.

Of course, there is a third option - a Mexico/United States map that is set in the bordering regions of Baja California and California, which would be a first international map we have got in vanilla or modded game. If developers managed to make the map size even bigger, it might be a possibility for such setting, although it is a less likely option than just being set in US or Mexico.

 

That would be awkward to have a massive fence in the middle of the map, but insanely fun for smuggling scenarios I guess

If this truck turns out to be a Gavril i will post a picture of a pizza. lol

Come to think of it, i do not think the border patrol has been used in lore sense since it's introduction, do you guys think we can get a border city with toll booth between two countries and fencing, here border patrol would also be used and we would have two countries in one map technically

 

It was also converted into the Park Ranger skin a couple updates ago, it hasn’t been the Border Patrol for a while. That could change though.

If the new map is on the US-Mexico border, we need Gavril D-Series, Roamer, Grand Marshal, and Ibishu Hooper in Border Patrol livery.

BeamNG.Smugglers run would be really cool, and those games did have a similar selection of cars as we have been seeing in teasers

 

I doni't know - the more I look at the body the more generic it looks... I wouldn't count on a factory truck with it, much as I'd love one.

From where you kneeling this must look like an 18-carot run of bad luck.
Truth is, game was rigged from the start.

 

I personally dont think a factory truck will come of it, most likely just a generic shell for the trophy truck. Would love to be surprised by the devs though, even if its a few updates down the line

 

I feel like this should be getting more attention. It's not uncommon for multiple teams to use the same base chassis, so seeing variations of this platform would make sense. Throw one body on it and call it a FINK racing team vehicle, throw another on and call it a Bruckell factory team vehicle. As for the engines, the fact that we don't have any in game audio in that teaser makes me think something is up. New V8 sound? Maybe they put a V6 in it instead, V6 trophy trucks are a thing.
