Seperate buttons send the same signal?

    Hi there,
I’ve just made a DIY button box with my dad, and its working well. On assetto corsa, the button box sends different inputs to my wheel. On beamng, this isnt the case. Say I flick one of my button box switches, its the same input as my wheels OPTIONS button. In Assetto it recognises each device and they all have seperate inputs, but beam just sees them as ‘Button 20’ etc. Anyone know how I can make the box send different inputs than the wheel? Would a keybind changer work well?

Edit: to be a bit clearer, when I flick my top right switch, it sends the same signal as my OPTIONS button - ‘Button 10’

Check in Options > Controls > Hardware tab. This is what the game receives from the computer. Verify that this is reflecting the intended behaviour.

Hi there! I can verify this is the issue. My wheel comes up in the hardware tab along with my USB button box. The box is ‘Generic USB Joystick’ and it has buttons 0-11. Only problem is, my wheel has buttons 3-24, and my mouse has 0-2 aswell (I never use the others). Is there any way I can set the USB encoder’s inputs to something other than these standard button names?

I'm afraid I don't follow. The button names are simply an enumeration of the features of each input devices. If a USB devices has 40 buttons, it'll have buttons named from 0 to 39. Same for axes.

Each input device has its own list of buttons. You cannot change their identifiers. If the "hardware" panel is showing all devices behaving independently, then everything is fine, the problem must be in your bindings or in your mods.

Ive figured it out! It was already set to something prior, I'm not sure what, maybe my xbox controller's settings. They are both seen as USB gamepads or something like that in the windows USB config. I've removed the old keybinds and everything is working well now. Thanks!
