You forgot sand. I bet it’ll have huge sand tires, and it can just fly off a sand dune jump 91 feet (WhistlinFiesel G-Wagen reference) and land on the bumper, shattering the headlights, foglights, breaking the bumper support, and in general causing mayhem and destroying it (for science! to test the durability) !
If the team does continue with specialized motorsport vehicles like this I don't think it's out of the question. In a way it would be to a 1930's coupe what the Class 5 is to the Piccobuggy, just with a drop tank instead of a tube frame
Well let’s see, the last update happened 5 days after creator program updated. Tomorrow is 5 days after creator program updated. We also know that the devs have been working on the release vids and blog posts so I’d say that’s a decent enough amount of evidence.
That's what I meant by "and other soft surfaces". XTVs are famously capable of going across just about any surface imaginable - even water. I mean...if the XTV will be able to do that, that's impressive. But I think sand dune jumping that high in a vehicle that likely tops out at about 40 mph will be very tough. That kind of jumping will be reserved for the faster off-roaders, like the Class 1 buggy and the trophy truck. Definitely, I agree with you - I'm not saying that it's impossible, just that it's less likely to happen than other vehicles. Before this slew of off-roaders, I would've said "no" to an official lakester, but now that vehicles aren't required to be based on street-legal counterparts, the sky's the limit for what can be added to the game.
Oh, I'm sure that modders will be swapping all kinds of engines into that little XTV. Civetta V10 swap any%/100% speedrun, anyone? 2,000+ hp in a 1,500-lb floating lunchbox, ready to flip and tumble its way down a mountain. However, I'm not quite sure if there will be any official aftermarket engine swaps for the XTV. It's a tiny vehicle with not much space in it for new engines, and at best, it'd probably get the 1.3L L4 from the Pigeon/Wigeon. Most Argo engine swaps appear to be V-twin to V-twin swaps, and we don't have any official V-twins as of right now. If it comes with an L3, the Pigeon/Wigeon's L3 could be a possibility, but I don't think that's a likely swap, either, since it'd probably be smaller and less powerful than the XTV's stock engine.
There's also the 1.2 Turbo I3 from the Cherrier FCVs, with at least 110hp (and 130hp, with the "E 110 Stage 1" ECU) but, then again, being turbocharged could cause overheating (and even overtorquing, since it has no Heavy Duty Long Block options and it can't take more than 240Nm) problems when constantly pushing it on some terrain types.
Nope. Original author quitted the game but the humble @Xupaun took the reigns on this one and no the automatics need a really bad update because no way a modern automatic holds gear with minimal throttle input until 2100 RPM like the Bastion but thats on every vehicle the Bastion was just a prime example because its new and still has this non realistic shiftlogic and the lockup clutch holds the gear tighter than a hungry dog his bone which means even if you cruise around and it gets a little steep you just automatically lose speed because the lockup clutch holds on if it would depend his life on it so you either have to hit the throttle like a maniac which results in massive downshift like you would kickdown or you let it drag down the car to the point it looses gear. I probably explained it a little bad but cmon, everyone of you ever has driven an automatic car from lets say the 1980s to the modern days know what i mean. The shiftlogic beam currently utilizes is trimmed on the behavior of driving like a madman with much throttle but cruising around normally is just not realistically simulated to this day. So to finish my badly formulated argument: It does certainly need heavy rework but thats seems to be a story for another day as the devs had not focusing on this so far which is okay as long as they dont forget about it in the long run. I hope you all dont get a stroke reading this, kisses!
Someone please explain why this looks like the same vehicle. The tube chassis is exactly the same. The build quality. Those weld marks. Is it an early build that got leaked??
Probably, considering that some of the buggy's parts were in the game and some people managed to drive around with them
Totally!!!!! What!!!! How!!!! But it has the whole body, and it has the whole roll cage, and texture! Before it was just a textureless suspension/hood on the Piccolina’s body
It was in the parts selector in the first release of .26, obviously on accident. It was good fun to jump around on Utah and I was tempted myself to 'complete' it until we get it officially, was never able to though. Can't wait to see what they've done with it since.
That might fit, and it'd certainly be an okay engine for such a tiny vehicle. But so far, aftermarket engine swaps tend to be V8s, and I don't know if anyone would go through all the trouble of fitting the FCV L3 in the XTV. I keep saying the XTV could get a V-twin, but so far, sounds tend to get released before an official vehicle that uses those sounds gets released (presumably so that modders can use said sounds), and we haven't gotten any V-twin engine sounds officially, so it's more likely going to be powered by an L3. It could even be powered by a single-cylinder, like on an old Amphicat, but that'd probably be reserved for an older XTV - and, again, no official engine sounds for a single-cylinder engine yet. EDIT: This large Land Tamer is powered by a Nissan L4, while the Mudd-Ox XL is powered by a 1.5L Kubota engine; it looks inline, possibly a twin or triple. So, yes, it is possible that the new XTV is powered by an L3 - nice to know that. Also, wow, is it pretty difficult to find information on what engines power some of these XTVs. They often list their engine type by brand or model or displacement, instead of going "yeah, this is powered by an L3" or "this is powered by a V-twin". And even if I look up the engine, info on that tends to be a bit foggy. No idea why that's the case. Also, the Solo 750 is powered by an inline-twin - another possibility for an engine type in the new XTV. If it seems like I'm obsessing hard over the XTV, that's because I am - the possibility of officially being able to float on water is so exciting to me.
