Anyone tested the new decal splines function? I'm away for a few days, but very interested in it and if anyone has had much success placing objects with it?
Ah yes, this tool can be fun. Examples: The tool was originally created so that mission makers wouldn't have to spend hours (or days!) placing barriers for time trials. There were more features planned for this tool, but for now, it's good enough. I'd like to do a more detailed post about the different parts of the tool. Also, I see that it doesn't handle objects with a non-centered origin very well, such as fences. This is fixable...
It looks great. I have some ideas already for how to use it. Would love a more detailed post though. Thanks!
Hey! Thats awesome! Im looking to create some guardrails for my map, would it be possible to make “forest items” guardrails with this?
I am in the same boat. Especially using the guard rails that deform from crash hard. I got them to work in the mission editor and save them as a prefab. The issue is they still show up as a vehicle, so if you put out 100 of these suckers, you would be tabbing for days to move through the pack. I don't care about resetting them except when I restart the race. There has to be a way to change that and retain the damage factor,
I Love this tool. It even works quite well for sidewalks and posts. it would be great if there would be an offset positive and negative to the spline itself in order not to have the object centered on the spline. It would be easier to align an object on the side of existing roads. Cherry on the top would be a context menu entry on the generated folder which could convert all the object instances to forest items. best! Alex.
