Seeing as the name stands for Sandstorm Performance, I’d imagine that this is the case.

There's that, on top of the fact that "Samuelson" exists nowhere in the entire dev blog or change notes.

 

Ok, but there must be a truck in BeamNG World that Sandstorm Performance converted into the Dunekicker, in real life it is based on the Jimco Spec Trophy Truck which is a Ford Raptor, so the Dunekicker must be a trophy truck probably from a Gavril pickup of the late 2000s.

A trophy truck's body doesn't have to be based on any production truck. Look at the Armada Trophy Truck

I don't think it's based on a Jimco. The cage is more like a Geiser Bros. The logo is clearly inspired by Geiser Bros.

These things are usually outside my scope of interest, but I really, really like this truck. I have a ton of fun with it.

The only thing that stops me from enjoying this one fully is... cabin ergonomy.
Hear me out: cabin instruments are placed in such way that both the navi screen and the gauge cluster are obstructed by the steering wheel. The problem becomes more apparent if you raise your driving position, which you are tempted to do because visibility is not its strong suit in th first place. (I don't criticize that, I know it's a common issue of most competition machinery nowadays).

But if you were to centre gauges in relation to steering column and move navi screen to the left, life in the cabin would be so much easier. There is plenty of space to do that and to be honest I can't figure out why it would be any other way.

 

ST2 Stadium configs rear suspension is missing both air bump stop and limit straps. This could be intentional, but seems like an accidental omitance.

 

You are correct in my opinion because here is an image of a Geiser Bros Ttrophy Truck.

If you are looking at the front end it almost looks similar to the front end of the SP Dunekicker. The cockpit shape is also similar to the Dunekicker.

 

But is Samuelson Performance a different brand?

 

the wheels that used to be "SamPerf trophy 1000s" have been renamed to "SP Trophy 1000" so it seems like the "SamPerf brand was becoming too prolific, and it's been retconned to Sandstorm Performance.

Maybe for the Lore we can say a guy called Jared Samuelson (no relation to ferettank ) started the fab shop, then sold it to someone else, it expanded, and was renamed to "Sandstorm Performance".

 

That's an absolute truth. I end up spinning if I even look at the gas pedal wrong.

One day I'll figure out how to drive this.

Nope. The Dunekicker would require a completely new chassis and drivetrain to function as a 4WD vehicle. This would essentially be as if the devs were creating a new vehicle (almost ish) just to add 4WD.
