0.27 Discussion Thread

It did happen to me sometimes too in 0.23 when i pressed the window key, then it vanished and came back in 0.27

 

Gonna find out what bugs you can fix! Gamergull & friends are… bug fixing!

 

For those having performance issues and inconsistent framerates and you have a nvidia gpu. Try using the studio drivers rather then the game ready drivers. Went from 55-65 on italy to 65-70 and a much smoother experience overall. Still didn't fix the micro stuttering but it's a start.

 

Yesterday was the first time I tried to play on the Johnson valley map, but it crashad on the loading screen. The error code was the 00..05. I tried it several times, even in safe mode, same issue.
(PC spec i5 6500, 16GB RAM, RTX2060s, game on SSD)

 

Floating rock up in the bordering hills along the lower corner of the map.

 

I decided to mess around with the SBR4 for no good reason and noticed a floating node on the driver side door sticking out more than the one on the passenger side door. I figured it was part of the door panel, so I decided to dig a bit further. Then I realized that particular node for the left door panel, d14l, is missing a comma, causing a syntax error under normal circumstances. For d14r, the right door panel node, it has a comma. Is this intentional or not?

 

So, I took a crack at Foraging for Fuel just now, and the one thing that's been really frustrating me is that sometimes, there's no real easy way to quickly restart from the beginning.

The mission description says I can only reset three times, but I've sometimes reset 15+ times and still not be able to start from the beginning. Is this a bug or intentional? Because sometimes, I've been able to start from the beginning with like, one or two resets.

Just to be clear, this is with no mods on 0.27.1 with a cleared cache.

 

I think you have to double tap the reset key to restart those kinds of missions completely. You have to do it really quick, as in, if you have time to realize the mission didn't actually restart, then you've waited too long to do the second press.

 

Yeah, that sometimes happens for me, but it's still frustrating that there's no keybind that I can press to quickly guarantee that I reset from the beginning, like Shift + R.

 

So I was wondering if in the next update, can there be an AWD transfer case option/Config for the Dune Kicker? (All versions of the DuneKicker to have AWD Config options would be preferred if possible). I would love to be able to have a bit better control/grip and I think having a 4WD/AWD option would be the perfect option! Thanks for all the hard work you guys do! I am very excited for the future of this game and can't wait to see what you have in store in the future.

 

funnily enough, 4wd would make it less drivable in its intended use case, since when you go around rutted corners, you need to keep the back wheels spinning to prevent them digging in and making the truck roll over.
I also don't know how it'd realistically work having CV axles that travel that far.

 

Oh, that's very interesting to know. And I presume the transfer case and differential for 4WD/AWD would move some weight off the rear wheels, which would reduce traction there and probably make it a bit harder to drive.

I guess people want 4WD/AWD for the Dunekicker because that would make it easier to drive on-road.

 

@DriftinCovet1987 along with the drivability concerns, if you look at how everything is packaged in the Dunekicker, it would be nigh impossible to do any form of proper 4WD setup because of the way the suspension is setup the differential could not be offset like the D-Series setup uses. It would have to be directly in the center. The driveshaft would have to pass through multiple parts of the tube chassis, suspension components, and potentially the engine block itself.

 

Oh, absolutely, it's really cramped in there. The Dunekicker would need a whole new frame for 4WD, like the Rockbasher has for its IFS/SFA setups, except far more extensively modified. The modifications for 4WD could be quite a lot worse for the Dunekicker, since it's front-engined instead of mid-engined and would require the whole front end to be lifted a fair bit.

I will admit, I was kind of expecting the Dunekicker to come with 4WD when it released, since 4WD/AWD is becoming much more common in Beam and the lack of it was one of the biggest complaints about the old LKS Prerunner mod.

 

Also realistic, since as far as I know IRL prerunners are all 2WD. Something to do with their origins and/or current class rules.

 

Sorry for late answer but this happens to me too, both with modded and non-modded vehicles. It may be due to a mod, but using the “lowest” graphic setting fixes the issue, something strange if it was a mod related problem. Is there any quick fix?
