WIP Beta released American Road 1.94

I am so glad there are so many that love this map that even after the creator gave up the fans keep coming up with ways to keep it alive! I love the mountain off road course, it is a really good progression from simple off road to rather challenging the higher up the mountain you try to go. I love to try to make it bottom to top without ever fixing or node grabbing the truck once in any way.

 

I couldn't agree more. The mountain off road in the middle of the map is really good too. I'm now discovering the rally section of the map and it's superb. What I like best is the fact I can drive around the map for hours and not drive down the same road twice

I can't get this to work. Put it in the mods folder, cleared cache, nothing happened. Re-downloaded the current version of the map and tried again, nothing. Is there something obvious I'm missing?

 

Did you download the main mod & put it in your mods folder or did you subscribe to it from the repo?

Main mod in the mods folder: Fix goes into mods folder.
Main mod in the repo folder: Fix goes into repo folder.

 

Really good idea! I tried putting both in the mods folder, then both in repo... still black textures after clearing cache. I think I might be out of options

I think what you're supposed to do is drop Daddelzeit's file into the americanroad.zip, which is the American Road mod itself and not just the mods folder. Of course, you should then clear cache just in case.

 

No, it should work as separate files. The game overwrites the original mod zip with the fixed files internally, I don't know why it shouldn't work. The last resort would be to replace the files in americanroad.zip.

 

Oh, my bad, I misread it.

 

I got it! I deleted both, subscribed to the mod in repo, and put the fix in. While I was in the repo, however, I found this:



And yeah, I had that folder. I removed it and the patch worked fine! So if this isn't working for anyone else try removing that folder and see if that's the problem.

yes! finally, this mod got officially updated!

 

hey Primo3001. can u if its possible make for american road some more maps to drive on i know it will take some time to make them but you could also just make a whole new map if that is the case. just for notice its just an idea for the map.
