Update: So right now it is up in the air whether or not the mod will be posted here or on the repository. For now, plan on a release on this thread. This model is not from Forza and not licensed by them. I am working with the original creator of the model to make sure, but I do not think I will have a response by Thursday. So as of right now, it will be released here.
Mod will be back up within the hour, discovered an issue with engine sounds. Fixing it now. Edit: Back up now, sadly none of the custom engine sounds used for the 2V, 4V, and Coyote wanted to work. For now they have been released with standard sounds. I did use the flatplane sound for the coyote to make it stand apart and at least somewhat resemble a coyote sound.
This car is really neat !! I would like to ask permission to make a Mod Showcase video of this mustang? Something similar to this private mod showcase video......
Go for it! --- Post updated --- Awesome! Criminally underrated car. I love mine. Hell yeah brother those cobras are awesome.
You should’ve seen it pre-revamp. That was rough. I’d like to get interior gauges working, custom sounds working, and do some body mods. Also working on getting 96-98 tails, as well as some cobra/Saleen body parts from Forza.
Hell yea ! I cant wait to show it off for you. Here is a teaser pic of the video --- Post updated --- The complete showcase video for this amazing mod you have created !!
I'm very happy with how this mod is coming out. I love all the new engine options that weren't there on the pre-remaster version. However it has a few issues. I don't know if anyone mentioned this, but the way the hood deforms is really weird. It's almost like the hood is hollow, since when it deforms the bottom and top separate, making it look like the hood is filled with air. I feel like it might be a jbeam issue, since on many of the other cars, the hoods just bend.
I love this mod as a stepping-stone to something great, but it needs some things. (Most of which are purely my opinion, but some it really does need) JBEAM: lol 1. First off, I think Big_Smokes' hood problem is caused by the node "h6". It stays attached to something in the engine bay instead of going with its hood-brothers, causing the hood to "inflate". 2. The deformation on the nose of the car (anything foward of the windshield) seems a little odd, or stretchy, for lack of a better term... I don't know why tbh. 3. The suspensions are a bit annoying to me. They work great as placeholders, but neither is super close to the real car. The MacPherson strut front end is close enough for now, but I'd like to see it made closer to reality in the future. The IRS is also fine for now, but it's not super close to the real Cobra IRS, AND all the other SN-95ers (Except the Terminator-Cobra, and post-2000 GT Convertible) use the 4-link 8.8" live-axle. (Quad-shock, or otherwise EDIT: I forgot the v6 cars were a 7.5", but they were still a 4-link live-axle) (Also doesn't have enough/correct final drive ratios) (I've fixed this lol) (I would be happy to build the Jbeams for all the suspension stuff that I want, and give them to you, BUT it won't be fast because I'm not the greatest Jbeammer AND I don't have a ton of free-time. PM me if interested, ignore me if not lol) 4. She's ~300lbs too light. Should be ~3,070lbs on the light-side, she is ~2,750lbs loaded (GT model). I think the weight problem is with the engines, as the supercharged 4v weighs almost enough, but the 2v is the super light one. 5. There are several "Leftovers" from the 200BX Jbeam still in the parts selector (Spoilers slot, for instance), not a huge deal for how early-on this mod is, but they ought to be removed or changed. 6. The rear brakes do not work, except for the P-brake. (I thought this was a skill issue of mine while I worked on the 4-link for me, but actually the rear brakes on the IRS don't work either. I re-downloaded to make sure, and they don't) (I've fixed the issue, it's simply the rear hubs were named improperly. Once the names are corrected the rear brakes work fine) 7. The rear suspension is too far back, and then the wheels are Jbeam-offset forward to fit in the wheelwell, which causes all sorts of weird suspension issues. (This is due to the incorrect scaling mentioned below, I've attempted to fix this, but everything I "fix" reveals more problems to unravel... lol) (I've pretty much got this fixed now lol) 8? Finally, Idk if this is purely a Jbeam issue or models too, but the engine props (Mainly pulleys) are alllll goofed up. MODEL: lol 1. I think the model's aiight for now lol. Just needs some polishing. (BOY OH BOY where do I start lol?!!? In attempting to make the ol' 4-link for myself [and maybe the public in the future idk, I still need to hear back from CityBuild] I ran into all sorts of issues with the model. It's incorrectly scaled [which I've fixed for me] and it also has several areas that are INSANELY high-poly [have NOT fixed those lol] and last but not least, there were literally over 9,000 congruent vertices that were, for some reason, separate... [I fixed this also lol] That's not even to mention the underside of the model either doesn't exist at all, or is not close to the real car at all, plus that bit about the suspension models needing help that I had initially mentioned... lol) 2. The engine (and several other) textures were broken by 0.26. 3. The transmission model (OHV engines only) is a super-old vanilla one and it looks HORRIBLE. OPINIONS: Dunn dunn dunnnnnnnn 1. "Windsor" (OHV) engines are missing Throttle-body Injection. Maybe this was already planned and just not gotten-to yet...? 2. I'd like to see the 2v and 4v (SOHC and DOHC) 4.6Ls merged into one 4.6L noV and have a selectable part inside the engine (Called "Valvetrain"?) to make it a 2v or 4v. (As with suspensions, I could take a whack at it and give you whatever I come up with, but it's up to you whether you want it) 3. I'd like to see the side-skirt pieces separated from the fenders etc. and made into their own part(s). (I could definitely do this, but it may break the textures and I DO NOT know how to fix them lol) 4. Finally, I think there arE WAY TOO MANY TRANSMISSIONS (lol) I'm all for variety, but I think that needs a bit of "cleaning up"... again, purely opinion. I hope this helps, and best of luck to you. Can't wait for it to be finished!
At the risk of reviving a thread which has been quiet for a couple of months... Do you have any plans to release a full UV and skin support? Love the mod and would love to start making liveries for my AI racing series!
First off, sorry to everyone for neglecting this thread. I would like to return to this mod and continue updating it. oioioioo, sorry that I did not see your PM's. Thank you very much for all the insights and your own work on the model. Before I reply to all of your comments, first I'm definitely not a mod creator by any means. I can do okay work when it comes to JBEAM code, but modeling and the whole "node" thing is not my cup of tea. I assume that Big Smokes hood issue is with the cowl hood, which is the only body part that I edited on the car, and it looks weird. I extended the cowl to go from probably a 1.5 inch cowl to 3.5 inch. It was a pain, because yes it is hollow inside. I could not for the life of me figure out how to translate the pulleys on the engine. I tried every variation of the code and couldn't get it to work. I reached out on this thread and another help thread several times and unfortunately could not get help, so I had to release it like that. That was probably the biggest thing I didn't like. The OHV engines missing TBI was another issue. All of the OHV models that feature a fuel injection intake are too modern for the 302 and 351. I could possibly find another mod that has a good model that I could use, or I could use the carbureted manifold with the 2V throttle body. I don't think that I'm going to merge the 2V and 4V into one. Each one has completely different models for twin turbos, turbo manifolds, etc. If I merged them together you could have a frankenstein 2V with a bunch of 4V parts that doesn't look right, vice versa. I do think that I'm going to move from the LS that I used for the 4V. RyL has released a new edge mustang mod that has a 5.4 4V with custom sounds, which looks almost identical to the 4.6 4V. Think I'm going to swap that one in.
Everything you said sounds good to me. I haven't worked on it in a while and it's still very unfinished, plus I've got even less free time now than I did at last-post. I can dump the .ZIP of everything I changed here in this thread if anyone wants to toy with it, or I can just keep wittling away at it until I like where it's at. (I'm a lot better at Jbeams now than I was at the time of my last post, so I'm not sure I'd still like what I did to the SN-95... I'll try to load it up in the next couple weeks and review my additions/changes for "quality," then I can dump the .ZIP here if anybody wants....?)
