How to change the bus destination sign?

[UPDATED TO WORK WITH 0.24.1 VERSION of the game]

Hello my fellow players,
I noticed some of you asking if it is possible to change the original bus display on Wentward DT40L bus, and in all those questions I just wanted to help out and show you how to do it. You may find step-by-step showcase below:
Note: this works only for Freeroam play. If you play the "bus route" option, the text cannot be edited.

1. Open your game, select the map you want to play on and spawn the Wentward DT40L bus:


2. After the bus has been spawned, locate the following button () on your keyboard and press it:


3. Shortly after the button has been pressed, the following menu will appear:



4. After opening the menu, copy and paste the following text inside the empty text bar:

controller.onGameplayEvent("bus_onRouteChange", {direction="direction", routeID="42"})



5. After you've inserted the text inside the text bar, you can edit it the following way:

• to change the number of your line, simply replace "42" with any numbers you want (keep in mind that only numbers up to 3 characters are supported) and remember to leave the " signs before and after the number you've inserted.
  
  
• in case you don't want to display numbers, you can also insert [bus]or[bng] text instead of "42", like the following:
  
  a) when [bng] text is inserted:
  
  b) when [bus] text is inserted:
  
• if you simply want to leave the line number and the line description empty, remove any text in between the " signs, as shown here:
  

6. Very important: before you start editing the text, press on the arrow pointing downwards and select the following option:


7. After you've made sure all the text is correct and all settings done as said here, hit that execute button and you're ready to play with your custom destination sign!
