So I was driving on East Coast USA and crashed into a tree, as you do. But in doing so FFB went all the way to the right, forcing my G920 to rotate 900 degrees and hit the limit. I didn't think much of this and left my computer with the game still running to grab something to eat. After a while I notice a smell of burning electronics, I get back to my computer to check and see smoke coming out of my wheel. Apperently the motors inside the wheel were still working to spin the wheel as beamng was still sending inputs past the 900 degree limit causing them to overheat. My wheel is completely ruined but at least my house didn't burn down.
Actually, no, I don’t use BeamNG for the crash physics. I use it for the realism of all the physics combined, and if crashing realistically comes as a result, even better. BeamNG is not just a crash sim.
If you let the FFB rock back and forth like crazy for a while and didn't think anything bad could happen, it's your fault, not the game's
