Update 0.4 is now out (on the thread, for the repo I submitted 0.2 and 0.3 on wednesday, but they're still not approved.......), take a look!
just saw that I had copied the original covet.dae into it, even though I didn't add any meshes (yet) removed it from all the versions (and fixed v0.1), filesize is GREATLY reduced now!
maybe i'll look into porting it, but generally this mod *should* be compatible with other engine mods for the covet (as long as the slot name matches)
I might be stupid, but upon downloading, it didn't work, unpacked it, still didn't work; the only other mod I have for the new covet is the scintilla v8/v6 engine mod, which shouldn't interfere as its engines only whereas this is transmission etc... What dyu suggest? great mod btw as it looks
I noticed that the hood isn't properly opening, I go to open the hood (popping it), go and try and open it, it lifts a centimeter then drops again. It doesn't annoy me much, but I notice.
I noticed that, too, but are you sure it's caused by my mod? edit: just tested it myself, seems to be caused by my mod! working on a fix!
yep, when I remove your mod (stock transaxle instead of yours) the hood opens normally, I don't have any other Covet Gen2 mods.
weird, I can't really see how my parts could affect the behaviour of the hood... nvm found something: it duplicates the h5 node for some reason (which belongs to the hood)
Well, I don't mind it, I'm not a famous YTer anyway that would berate your mod just because of that, but I'll assume you'll find a way to fix it soon. Cheers!
actually, I've already found a fix, apparently i thought it was a good idea to make a beam from the transmission to the hood.......... I guess either v0.5 or v0.4.1 out soon. as it's only a small fix and I can't think of something bigger to add atm, It'll probably be v0.4.1 --- Post updated --- Soooo, v0.4.1 is out! Fixed: - Hood now able to open! Possible problems: - when using the Front Differential with the Rear Engine Layout, the front halfshafts may be unstable and rattling around (needs more testing) Testing complete: it hangs down a bit, but shouldn't be an issue
Hi, thanks a lot for the mod, I'm trying to do some rally versions of the Covet, all wheel drive is really appreciated. I hope your still updating as I found a bug where the front left halfshaft is always hanging. I don't know if this is a known issue but it makes the car to brake very easily as the halfshaft is the lowest part of the car. I post some pictures so you can see the problem. Again thanks a lot, amazing mod.
It is known, it is due to there being no front differential/transmission. The original plan was to make models and everything for an actual diff / driveshaft / ... but I just don't have the time and/or expertise in blender... I think I could make a quick "fix" (just deleting the hanging nodes for the custom halfshafts) edit: File attached, should now have Halfshafts with removed Flexbody/Beams, I guess I'll also upload it as a small update to the mod and to the First Post in this Thread edit 2: this version is now also attached to the original Post of this Thread and is submitted for reviewal as an Update for the Mod on the repo
Thanks Joli! I was tricking it by noding the left halfshaft to the bottom of the car but your file seems to have made them harder to break (they still break but you have to go much harder on them). Thanks a lot for the mod I understand it takes a lot of time, I'll update you on the halfshafts if they do anything funky. Update: So main problem is still that the left halfshaft is lower than the car, in hard landings or doing some off road it will break when the right one won't. Idk if you can make it stick to the car or just taking out all of the collisions.
For the MR config there should now be no Halfshafts at all... They should only be there for the drivetrain logic... as you can see, there are no Halfshafts, unfortunately you can't see it, but they're still spinning, too Or do they also cause problems with the normal front-engine version? (I didn't change them so that would really surprise me...) edit: nvm I just found this: --- Post updated --- try this also, I'll go get some sleep, its 4 am here... see you in maybe like 10 hours
New Update 0.5 out! Highlights of Changes/Additions: Added Models for various Parts for Front Engine Layout (thanks @barabash) Changed Jbeam to make sensible use of the Models (e.g. not show the Front Engine Layout's Rear Diff Models for the Rear Engine Layout's Rear Diff) Sadly, the Textures are quite big in File Size, so the new Update is now significantly larger than the last Update (~5.5KB -> ~ 30MB), but I guess Quality comes at some price... Credits: Models: @barabash for Model of Transfercase Model of alternate Front Left Halfshaft (to fit the Transfercase) Model of Driveshaft with Mounts (Driveshaft edited by me) Model and Jbeam of Exhaust (Model edited by me to fit the Rear Halfshafts better) Model of cut Exhaust Heatshield some more Models, currently unused BeamNG.drive Devs for Examples for various Jbeam stuff Models of the 200bx's Drivetrain of which I used: Rear Diff (moved to fit into the Rear Suspension) Rear Halfshafts (edited to fit to the Rear Diff) Fueltank (edited by me to fit the Covet better)
