Wired Xbox Controller - Y and B Buttons Error

So I'm not sure if this is a problem with just the Experimental build or all versions (Since I just recently got my controller and have only been playing Experimental) but my controller seems to be having some issues.

When I press the 'B' button my game endlessly zooms out on the car, and just the opposite for the 'Y' button. It endlessly zooms in. Nothing stops it. I can't press 5 on the numpad or right stick on the controller to fix it. When I press those, yes the view resets but then it just keeps zooming in or out. It even happens when I exit to the main menu and start again. No matter what map I use is just keeps on going. I eventually have to restart my game.

I often press these buttons by accident so this is a really annoying problem. Anyone else have the same issue? Or is this well known and I just have to deal with it? (Yes I did search the forums a few times before posting this)

 

Happens to me to, to fix, just press 9 or 3 on your number pad, then 5

 

Wow I can't believe I've never tried that. I've tried all sorts of stuff with the numpad but not that I guess lol. Thanks a lot.

I'd still really like to have this issue fixed though. Maybe just make the default controls for Y and B, zoom in and zoom out. That would be a really useful control if it didn't have this bug. I use that feature very often on the numpad

 

id rather have the controls more like most games have them, if you want an example, look at forza, a is handbrake, b is up shift, x is down shift, y (don't mind, can be used for anything). Sort of like that.

 

Well since I don't really like worrying about gears in a game like this, I personally wouldn't use that. I use automatic 24/7. Just a lot less to worry about. But yeah. I would love 'A' to be a handbrake. I always press it anyways since I'm so used to GTA games lol. Would really like to see that added

This error and its solution were listed as known issues in the experimental thread. Surprised it didn't come up in search, I found it with "Xbox zoom".

 

Yeah, same here. I have been having this problem too. It really bothers me though because I don't have a Numpad so I have to restart the whole game when I hit either of the zoom buttons... Sad panda...

 

I, too, am having this issue with an Xbox 360 controller, any idea as to why? It's a controller straight from Microsoft, not third party. Guess i'll try not to hit the zoom buttons for now, and if I do, I will use the numpad then, lol.

 

i solved that by changing two lines of the xinput inputmap for my xbox360 controller from "beamngzoom" to "gamepadzoom"
now all is good.

 

This totally works, changed two lines in the inputmap so that all say "gamepadzoom" and boom no problems.
