LKS Prerunner

I noticed it was taken down off this site and the mod repo. What happened?

 

It is outdated, no need for it anymore

 

That’s a shame, its a neat mod. I happen to really like Toyota Baja trucks and its the closest thing to the Ivan Stewart trophy truck

Do you think you could put it here? It might be nice to have it.

@a plane guy seeing how much work you do with other old mods, this could be an interesting challenge to add PBR to. And maybe a bit of a revamp, swapping the engines for the Bastion ones and changing the trannies

In fact, maybe that’ll be my first texture work project. It’ll be good practice for my bigger projects on the future. I’ll be asking lots and lots of questions on the Modding for Dummies Discord lol.

@Stoat Muldoon is there any particular reason you took it down, and would you mind if I gave converting it to PBR a try? As well as swapping the Bastion engines into it. Now that I'm seeing it though, this is a very high-quality engine model, albeit looking like it was downloaded and not really made for BeamNG.

 

Come to think of it, this is similar to the 1984-85 Class 8 truck, right before chassis 010 debuted. Should definitely be preserved with some updated and period wheels and tires. Maybe older BFGoodrich All Terrain or Mud Terrain tires? They used Progressive Pro custom race wheels before they got Ultras.

 

i can agree on adding pbr and bastion engines to the prerunner. i've just been stuck with a 3.5L V6 that was from a mod and the big v8 and its non-pbr'ed textures

Not sure why the truck was taken down but I can say that myself, and I'm sure Stoat nowadays are very busy. I sometimes check the forums and happened to notice this too. If you guys would like to mod the truck, please by all means feel free and re-release an updated version. Me and stoat really sank a lot of time and effort into this old truck so it would be awesome to see it continue to live on.

I hope to return to the project in the future, but for right now it's been dropped for other projects. I appreciate your blessing though, I'm excited to try and get an updated version out at some point.

Probably because it was an old mod and they generally don't age well with some exceptions ofc

Yes I read the whole thing. That's exactly why I mentioned exceptions.
But in general 90% of mods get "no textures" after a couple updates.
Go to page 500 of repo and try playing with old mods. You won't be very pleased with the results

 

Yeah, but everyone, including one of the creators, said they don’t know why it was taken down, and it still works with no problems.
