Hi guys and welcome to my biggest beamng project the Better Italy map wich is the Italy map but improved. This is still a WIP so don't expect to much for the moment. v0.50 changelog : Added a new area of downtown Norte wich some big skyscrapers Modified the graphics and the clouds More realistic road signs and road markings : Change the speed limits on the highway to fit with italian standards : 90 in the tunnel, 80 on the bridges and 100 everywhere else Also changed the road markings to some EU standard ones near the portino Added a new crawling area called the "crawl strip" Fixed the floathing fences and benches (also removed a hole near the industrial port) I didn't modify the places of Lucera, Citta Vecchia, Conca Azurra since there are lovely places and I don't wanna remove the italian charm to them.
Are we gonna have any Norte expansions other than skyscrapers? I'd like to see the city cover a bit more area
Realistic? I hate to tell it to you, but skyscrapers on an Italian island are not realistic at all ...
I like the idea but sky scrapers in a small town just looks silly. The placement doesn't look natural or realistic. Maybe halfing the size of them and reducing the amount might help with it
Let me ask you a simple question: where, geographically, is Italy located? And where the west coast of USA? Is an island a city? Are there any skyscrapers on Elba or Capri? If you want to make it realistic, you could build some mega-hotels along the beaches ....
my point still stands. The theme of each map it completely different. Belasco is a dense American city and the Italy map is a small Mediterranean island. --- Post updated --- I'm not discrediting your work, just saying its best to look at real life Mediterranean island towns then that way your improvements will look more natural and "immersive"
ah yes so realistic we stretched buildings along the z axis and spelled words with boulders in a field
i dont mean to be an asshole but last time i checked 20 story high rises arent really a thing in relatively rural countrysides or islands, let alone "skyscrapers" that are just stretched normal building assets calling this a "better italy" is just a tad generous and if the cynic in me were to have a say, borderline misleading. if you manage to make some seriously significant improvements or additions, then it's more fitting of that title.
Honestly, it should be renamed, the best roads in Italy, because these sprawling the houses rob the city of its Italian charm --- Post updated - Race track and the railway are better than these "skyscrapers"
Ok I understand I gonna change the title and remove the more realistic --- Post updated --- The "realistic" was meant to be for the road signs and markings
