Suggestion: Traffic AI loadout preset (Bulk-select vehicles quicker)

    It seems I'm not the only one who's voiced this but, here it goes:
    So, as the title is described.. I'm sure I am not alone when it comes to cruising around a map with traffic: Not everyone likes playing with only vanilla or randomized modded vehicles and, some want a 'specific' set of vehicles to be around. Currently as it stands, You can select to spawn randomized or 'Smart' traffic that is supposed to be spawned from popularity (I'd assume most frequent used vehicles by player) Which, doesn't work as intended if that's the case for me.

    Everytime I play. After I finish spawning in traffic, along with pooled vehicles: I spend over an hour reselecting the proper vehicles I want to be present for the year I set the world to be. Let's say it's the 1990s. Now, I won't see a 2020's Cherrier passing by.

    The Traffic-Feature has come a long way.. Though, still to this day after being implemented into vanilla: There is no feature to make your own custom presets of what vehicles CAN and CANNOT spawn. You have always been able to limit how many vehicles can spawn but how about what vehicle spawns?

    This could be implemented in the hud using the vehicle selector catalog that adds a checkmark on the corner of a vehicle icon and going into further detail, checkmarks on individual configs of vehicles within that vehicle tile.

    The alternative could be a simple button under GAMEPLAY>TRAFFIC labeled Traffic Loadout or Presets that reads a editable text file or something that lists vehicle filenames.. aka such as fullsize, midsize, etc. If the filename is on the list: the vehicle in relation spawns when traffic is loaded up as long as this button is enabled. Otherwise, Random or "Smart" traffic spawns in.

    Third option is where the community comes in: A mod tool. Just like how the traffic feature started out as a modded tool back in 2019-So can this as well until the BeamNG Team make this a reality for the Traffic Feature in a following update.

    Besides making what I'd call "Manual-Presets" a thing of the past:
    This would save many, including myself so much time when it literally takes over a minute for the vehicle selection menu to load due to a-ton-of-mods enabled along with, 64-84 pooled vehicles on the map for true traffic diversity.
    -That right there sounds like a personal problem and it is-all jokes aside, this feature would be hella useful people.

    If this feature could work better than I described, or can't, let's talk about it.

    As far as I remember, you were able to add a custom preset in the traffic tool mod(now outdated). I think it was something like this:

    I totally agree with this idea. Every time I spawn the vehicles I want, I spend quite a long time waiting for every vehicle to load, back to the vehicle selection HUD and waiting for the lag caused by mods and search for the next vehicle to spawn. I hope that we can multi-select vehicles we want by checking the boxes on the configs, simply press on the "Spawn Selected Vehicles" button or something, and then we just need to wait for all the vehicles to load.:)

    To add on to this, I think it'd be beneficial to do it on a by-config basis, meaning you select which configs to spawn instead of which car, because there's often silly presets that aren't exactly desirable for traffic. Also custom default license plates for each spawnset would be good too, for example if you want 60's cars in Italy only you probably would want the "Italy Old" plate design as opposed to a new plate. Custom spawnrates would be sweet too, either in a by-car basis or by-config basis, or both. Basically the whole system would work like this, you'd select the individual vehicle configurations you want to use in the UI, maybe shift-click to select multiple at once, kind-of like how file explorer works, and then if you want to multiply the spawnrate of a certain car you'd go in the UI again and it would only show vehicles you've already selected beforehand for the actual spawnset, then you could individually edit the spawnrate of certain configs or select all the configs in one car and multiply them altogether. After that, you'd be able to pick a certain plate design, maybe the option to select a different design for emergency vehicles only, and boom you're done.

    I just reviewed this last night. I made my own group though, this does not work as I expected it to. You spawn groups via the world editor. While creating one, manually select vehicles, their configs and colors. Attempted spawning custom-made group via the AI button on the Radial Menu and, nothing. Spawns the default selection.
    From what I learned last night: You have to spawn these custom groups via the world editor.

    The average user will not know this so: the AI Loadout preset should be implemented more simplified in game.

    Maybe so. I also tinkered with it a bit and would want to make a custom traffic vehicle pool for my map. Players could choose from the radial menu if they prefer to spawn it or default traffic. Now it seems I'd have to share an additional traffic file for the map.

    Seems like I'll have to do that for now as well universally for all maps: since I prefer pre-2000 traffic on the road.
    Do you know how the Vehicle Group Manager functions precisely as it currently is?
    There may be some things I don't know as of yet.

    I know only what the sacred texts say, for answers to precise functions you should ask a developer. My mod work is "click and type until things work" sort without much understanding.

    Just thought of this, but time-based traffic spawnsets would be cool too, imagine all the schoolbuses are active around 8-9am and 2-3pm or whatever possibility there could be with this sort of traffic, that'd be cool asf

    That would work great. Having Semi-trucks spawn more frequently during late night, early morning hours. Similar circumstances with the T-series garbage truck mod too.

    We need something like this, otherwise it kills the immersion.

    Sadly, one does not have many choices outside 2020-2010s and 1990s-1980, as after that there is like one car per decade and the cars currently in stock beamng earlier than the 80s have like barely any variety in and of themselves in terms of bodytypes, facelifts and such. The Burnside for example is only a sedan in vanilla beam, there is also no wagon or sportspickup bluebuck or some variety around the moonhawk platform, which I think is very sad.

    But eliminating modern cars from spawning is something I really really want to do, even would delete those cars from the game because I ain't driving plastic pieces from after 2000 to be honest.

    Hope this comes in the future together with actual variety of older cars through remastering and stuff.

    Always wonder what they've got in store for us!

    ik this is a year old but i want to bump cos its a great idea, for some reason there are cars the player can drive easily but the ai just can't figure it out

    Yes. We need this added. It would he useful for if you only want old cars or want lorries to spawn. Or only want the modern cars.
