2.0 is now out in pre-release on Github. Updated the first post. Edit: I submitted it to the mod repository as well, hopefully it's approved soon
I did some more testing and found some shortcomings when offroading. So the 2.1 update will include refinements to how the steering works offroad.
Settings that have the same name will work basically the same as 1.0 so you can copy your values for those. But some settings got added or removed since 1.0 so you can't match everything.
This mod has been a bit of a lifesaver for someone like me who's had to leave his G29 behind for uni and stick to a controller. Though I seem to be having issue with the walking mode; the mod causes the player model to literally drop on the ground and be unable to move. I haven't been able to see anyone else who had this issue, any ideas?
I already fixed it in the upcoming 2.1.1 update, but it takes time for updates to get approved by moderators. Should be out in a few days at most though.
v2.2 is out! It changes the steering logic in some ways, so if you already tweaked your settings in the UI app then maybe it's worth re-visiting them. I also added compatibility with BeamMP in this version since it was requested by someone.
You know how with the vanilla keyboard steering, after 0.27 when the wheels are turned when the car is stopped, they stay turned without having to hold the arrow key, then automatically straighten when you accelerate. Can you make the mod work like this as well? Everything else is great, just when the car is stopped only.
Hi! This is a must have mod for gamepad players, many thanks to you for this. But I'm wondering regarding the game force feedback config: Does modifying the linearity settings impact the way your mod should behave? Before using your mod I had put ffb linearity to 3.5 for a smoother controller feeling, should I set it to default again now?
Do you mean the linearity setting for the steering bind? The steering feel with my mod is smoother and not as touchy as the default one, so it doesn't need such a relaxed curve for finer adjustments. I use 1.5 but it's pretty much preference.
Yes, the setting with the graphic. I'll try to reduce it to 1.5 instead of 3.5 then and see if it's better, thanks again
Well, 1.5 was a little to harsh for me, after some tests a linearity of 3 seems to be the sweet spot for me regarding a smooth and precise steering.
I noticed that this mod does not work when driving the 90s etk K mod by LucasBE, wondering if anyone else has this issue.
