For years now, there's been only 6 well-made aircraft: The B25 Mitchell, the Cessplane L19, the Me-262, the DG-100 Jet, the Avrojet, and the Antonov AN-12. Some of these haven't been updated in such a long time that their J-Beam is awful and they completely glitch out at the slightest little tap to their fuselage. Sure, some planes have been released recently like the F-22A Raptor, but it has the worst physics I've ever seen in my entire life. Mix the fragility, sound, and thrust of the 262 with the J-Beam of a Net Nuka mod, and that's this F-22 for Beam. What I'm saying is, we NEED new planes! More commercial aviation like the 737 or Concorde! More General Aviation aircraft like the Cessna 152 or the Piper Cub! More Modern Military aviation like the F-14, F-18, or F-35! More helicopters like the Airbus H125 or an Apache! Sure, this is not BeamNG.fly, but aviators like us need new planes! We've all been stuck flying these WW2 rust buckets for the better part of 2 years, and it's repetitive! Would you play BeamNG if all of the cars were from only the 40s? NO! Us AvGeeks deserve better, and there are many modders out there with so much potential to be able to do that! Even one plane from this list would change Beam astronomically for the better, so why not? Will we just sit with our old aircraft forever, or will we demand better? Us Aviators cannot stop here!
Well driving a plane in Beamng Drive is difficult and takes time to get used to it for people who just got the game.
There aren't many made for the same reason boats are few and far between for beam. 1. All of the official content and 95% of all mod content are land vehicles. This means to make a new land vehicle you can often start with an existing vehicle as a base and build off of it. For Air/sea vehicles you have to do a lot from scratch which while still doable is certainly more difficult. 2. The documentation/tutorials available for making air or sea vehicles are a lot more scarce. This can lead to you having to pour over the code directly of the few successful existing mods to figure out how they work. 3. Beamng's aero and water physics while plenty good for a driving game can start to show their limitations when you try doing vehicles dedicated to them. 4. the size of most Beamng maps is only really usable with particularly slow and small aircraft and even then there isn't enough land to really make air exploration all that fun.
