Oh, geez! Hope you’re okay! Put your health and well-being above drawing some nonexistent vehicle for a virtual application!
Im fine don't worry its just a little inconvenient to draw right now, although I guess I could use this free time to draft up a decent bit of lore for the final vehicle. I mean, it is the final car after all, better send the concept stage series off with a bang with the lore of Soliad entering the early aughts. One concept for lore is loosely based off an old tale my father told me about his time selling cars locally and it involved a hefty amount of falsified paperwork, under the table sales and LS engines, so I've considered throwing in a modified version of that into the lore just to expand not just on vehicle and brand stories, but also individual stories wrapped around these vehicles as well. Kind of like how the Buzzard got its story on Civetta v Gavril (which still may be the most fun I ever had writing a story) but with less focus from a brand and more focus on individuals. Also I know the developers have said multiple times that they officially never had anything planned related to these vehicles, and that they where simply a hodgepodge of names thrown out there. But, considering that it is the 10 year anniversary, and the Concept Stage is one of the biggest mysteries ever posted to the forum here, maybe they could give a tiny 'hot or cold' indication towards the concept vehicles when the project is finished to see if they at least slightly lined up with what, at least in their opinion, would have been the concept stage vehicles? Originally I had wanted this to be a project dedicated to researching and exploring the concept vehicles and hoping that after a decade we could dig up enough evidence on what these vehicles would be. I quickly found that this would not be the case whatsoever since there genuinely did exist nothing on these vehicles. But, despite the fact that the concept stage vehicles will never be realized in game, nor will their true forms ever be known, it's definitely nice to know that this has reignited some interest in these vehicles and that this may be the most definitive collection of information gathered on the Concept Stage vehicles ever produced. --- Post updated --- Also sorry I haven't gotten around to this, I'm not as good with interiors and since I would probably end up tracing most of these images anyways I'll just post them here. The idea was mostly to be based around the Dodge Aries K and its various badge altered clones in just being known as the cheap malaise option. Here are some interior pics of the IRL Aries K to just kind of give the vibe for the interior. Basically if it looks like the interior smells of cigarettes, asbestos, and wet dog your on the right track!
Yeah I think this is the one your referring to: https://www.beamng.com/threads/1987-bruckell-satyr-lore-friendly-dodge-aries.74794/page-5 Sadly unfinished and mildly broken
2007 Soliad Palisade SC+ is out! It's a real looker with a story deserving of a GM/Pontiac product! It is also the last vehicle in the Concept Stage, and proceeding forward I have a few ideas for short little brand highlights I would love to do, where I would either take an already existing brand, or make my own, and look at a single period of its existence, such as a period of a few years, and examine its product lineup during a variety of internal and external shifts in the world, I have several concepts for this, and have listed them below. Let me know which ones you guys are most interested for and I will make sure to prioritize them, also let me know any interesting ideas you might have for them! -AMC-style brand dealing with continued budget cuts and declining market share during the late 70s to early 80s trying to remain independent from the surrounding large automakers -Twin Coach-style bus/tram builder navigating a merger with Burnside during the early 50s campaign to replace trolleybuses with standard buses after the war and the increasing demand for domestic travel by highway -SAAB-style brand post-merger with Gavril in the early aughts adapting to new oversight and forced changes to their design and production rituals that drive a wedge between the design engineers and the new employers -Hyundai-style automaker producing budget Asian vehicles trying to find a medium between domestic needs in Korea while still remaining competitive abroad in America during the 1980s -British-Leylands-style company navigating a post-merger market in Britain where they are forced to work together with their former adversary companies while having to decide which products continue and which fade away into obscurity as the 1970s car market ushers in new competitors domestically -Yugo-style automaker in the 1980s-1990s attempting to export products abroad while the situation domestically slowly worsens, examining the companies continued attempts to remain in operation even while the world around them slowly crumbles -Mitsubishi-style brand in the late 2010s slowly rebranding itself into a family-oriented brand while the loyal fanbase longs for a return to production of the sporting cars from the 90s -Ford-style brand discontinuing their production of domestic small cars/sedans in favour of larger trucks and industrial vehicles, and the resulting hole in the American market that it leaves during the 2010s
Thanks, I know a few people have done some work on either automation models or modifying in-game vehicles to be like similar concept stage counterparts but I'm not entirely sure on the current progress of those. I would do them myself however I am surprisingly bad at Automation vehicle design and also just not good at using blender at all (my only modelling experience is Fusion360 for university classes). If you wanna give it a try though, feel free!
one day i plan on making the albatross a reality in the beam.ng universe and would you mind if i use your front and rear design for it --- Post updated --- here is what i think fits the albatross upper picture shows the sedan with optional spoiler lower picture shows the coupe with landau top
Yeah no go for it! Any and all drawings I post here are 100% public domain, feel free to use them however you guys please!
Figured that since SAAB vehicles always had a rather distinctive styling design, especially for the front grille layouts, that I should devise one for SNM as well. How each fascia would be implemented: If the production run of a vehicle begins in an era, it receives that face, regardless of subsequent new faces added. This means you guys will only see the final face here on the 540-550 Series, but I figured that since I was concepting a relative design and progression to reach a modern design, the least I could do is show you guys what goes on in the background and maybe throw a little teaser to you guys on how the design of the upcoming cars is gunna look As well, for anyone who might've looked at the upcoming models list, you'll notice a typical slandering of numbers throughout the name, the SNM model names will (mostly) follow this specific naming recipe: XYZ AB X: Generation of Model Y: Doors on Model Z: Cylinders in Engine A/B: Arbitrary Trim Indicators So the 3rd generation 4 door sedan with an I6 and EX trim would be the 346 EX while a 4th generation wagon with 4 cylinders and no defined trim would just be a 454 (wagons would be considered 5 doors, while liftbacks and hatches would be 4 doors denoted by an indicator for a hatchback) Trim names could also feature buzzwords like SAAB used for Aero and whatnot, but that will vary from model to model, this is just the generic bread-and-butter model name layout you can expect See you soon for the 540/550! --- Post updated --- Also changed the title of the thread since its no longer just a Concept Stage thing
540-550 Pre-Facelift is en route, ETA of about 2 hours for me to finish the wagon variant and also put in the lore dump --- Post updated --- The 1994 SNM 544 SX and 1994 SNM 556 SX are posted!
I never noticed that the 800 series in game uses the name numbering scheme as the SNM ones but cool to know
So off topic but goddamn MSX FM really was the best radio station in GTA3 --- Post updated --- Also i should consider actually finishing this
In all seriousness, I will be rebadging the new minivan as an accurate (as best as I can to the concept drawing) version of the Bruckell Chivala. I might not be finishing the spinoff series but I will be bringing a concept stage vehicle to the game, which is cool. So stay tuned!
