This is much closer to dev quality than expected, an amazing tribute to Ken Block, way more customization than I would have expected from a mod like this. Sadly my GPU hates it even with the 2K skin, but that's not your fault, it's just the car being extremely detailed. Deserves more recognition definitely.
Thanks! im really happy to see everyone seems to be enjoying it so far. seems like one of my main goal was met but i need to work on improving the performance im contemplating redoing some parts of the models. some are old asf and they could be improved. since i started this mod i did learn a lot. and the main 2k skin does not change the 2 other 4k skins lol... i made this a bit weird..... if you try it without any chassis and interior skin does it help? you can remove all skins and its still colorable too. i need to do the low res pack. the way i think ill go about it is you either get the low res or the hig res skin pack depending on your preferences. high res is what we have, and im thinking low res maybe cut it by half? minimum. 2k? or even more 1/4 of the current size? 1k? idk, thoughts? in terms of performance improvements im not really a pro lol. but ill try my best to work towards a solution that helps the performance. so if you got any good tips for that im all ears. i know its a heavy asf mod, because the few times i tested this mod with a friend in multiplayer, this mod spawned twice would make BOTH our pc thermal throttle lmao. id get stutters and go down to 30fps. it brings my 2060 super to its knees. gpu does not like it. i need to find a way to at least improve the performance a bit. its a bit too heavy to my liking right now. just curious what is your gpu?
buy me a steam deck and ill figure it out i got no clue how installing mods with the steamdeck works. quick google gave me a post where someone said this "However you can also drag and drop 3rd party files right into the mod folder from desktop mode." hopefully its helpful enough for you because ive got no idea how the steamdeck works. download is at the bottom of the first post. for more info on how to manually install a mod https://documentation.beamng.com/tutorials/mods/installing-mods/ https://documentation.beamng.com/support/userfolder/
First: great mod - great work! I understand that configurations meant for drifting are not the best in a straight line, but at least the hillclimb version should not dance uncontrollably all over the road. I forgot how to tune the suspension, can I do something with toe-in or camber values to make this better?
ive been driving this car with a g29 steering wheel. its an extremely twitchy car and it requires a lot of micro adjustments to be kept straight. i know its got a flaw somewhere in the suspension which adds some toe with suspension travel i think, or something weird mechanically going on with the suspension. which does not help to keep it straight. its hard for me to figure it out 100%... ive still got a ton to learn when it comes to tuning suspension. ADD to that the torque on all 4 wheels.... im really not a pro at fine tuning these values. ive been having issues with the fine tuning, its not how i want it really but idk how to get it perfectly tuned either. i find it too bouncy... and in the vehicle tuning menu, most coilover should have a bunch of variable stuff to fine tune the suspension rating and such. the kennywah pro coilover has the most insane customization in a coilover. there is also the camber and toe variables in the tuning menu. and a bunch more. also a pro steering if you really wanna mess with the steering. node position is variable and more... i didnt shy away from making a lot of stuff variable in this mod so i hope it will be helpful. But if somebody does make a better tuned config, dont be shy to post it here. it will help contribute for a better overall mod quality for everyone. ill take all the help i can get fine tuning this beast. as ive said multiple times, im not an engineer and ive really just been trying my best with the smol bits i know. so any mechanical or jbeam or physics help and tips will be greatly appreciated and will point me towards the development of a higher quality mod for everyone to enjoy.
