I know for sure that many Thrustmaster wheels are losing forcefeedback when you alt-tab out of games due to an incompatibility between Thrustmaster's drivers/firmwares and Microsoft's GameInput software introduced to some people in this weeks Windows Update. I do not know if other manufacturer's drivers/firmwares are affected or not. Only Thrustmaster has released an update as far as I am aware.
what do you guys think would be in the next update besides the things we know ? more race inspired parts and apps or rework of existing ones and i`ve read that the devs are working with real tire manufacturers for the tire temps and that indicates for me that we`re getting a compleate tire overhaul in the next update
i also wonder if they will someday update the ecu simulation like with whats already there plus the possibilities of changing the ignition timing to advanced or retarded and how much fuel is put into the engiene like aproper fully programable ecu
I was having some trouble with my wheel. I found that modifying the setup-specific force feedback to something other than 100% would fix it.
Tire thermals would be difficult to implement, very few games have done it correctly. Plus it would cause hundreds, even up to THOUSANDS of mods to suddenly be outdated
Tyre thermals are completely meaningless without an overall tyre model rework. Current tyres with thermal simulation would make for a worse driving experience lol. I suspect that is also why it is taking longer than they expected.
Tire thermals only make sense for the racing tires imo, it would actually make tires less grippy until they reach optimum temperatures and may not even have a noticeable effect on road tires
Which is what we want for a true driving experience. Race tires do take some time in order to reach their optimal temperature while road tires wear faster and, depending on the tire, some of them don't even withstand spirited driving!
Hear me out devs: An AI option in the wheel where when selected the ai cars aim and crash into each other mimicking a demo derby, each car automatically scans for other ai vehicles or the player vehicle and whatever is closest they try to take out. depending on the map this can make for utter chaos or an actual satisfying demo derby.
Automation Test Track remaster, ETK K-Series, and there are some additional racing parts found in the files --- Post updated --- But there’s been no official confirmation
Well this would make the experience even better for me and there would probably be an option to start with preheated tires like there is for the brakes and the engine
Have we all forgotten about pretty much every comment the devs have ever made on the WIP tire physics? Even if they plan it for this update (which we have no way of knowing), it's a complicated enough system that it easily could get delayed again like it did last time it was planned. We in absolutely no way should have any expectations for a release timeline on that.
I'd love a demo derby AI mode or even demo derby scenarios. The difficult part would be getting the AI to drive realistically and not just smash into each other head-on. To be fair, even a very poor AI derby mode would be great to have.
