Thanks you Spec racer Z I missed that ! I just fix it and some random textures placement on kerb, that will be fixed for the next version. I still having an hard time working on tirewall. I found how they managed to do it on official map but it need to be done with forest editor tool. I found the white, black, blue and green version of the tirewall dae used by beamNG but of course they don't use anywhere a red version of tirewall and i'm puzzled to say the least to understand the way they change color of a dae object while using the same dds (material) for each version. (the comparison of dae file don't help at all and without the blender/3dsMax project behind working on random number will not help I guess...). But working with the forest editor show me how I could use it to remove my own not so pretty "trees" dae and using offical tree dae one from other maps. I will try to do that later. ps : good to know Leo Zigler, I worked my ass of lately trying to have better perfs !
I just released the version v0.9, with a lot of new features : - I redo the gare to be closer to the reality with escaping. I also move some grandstand for the same reason. I finished the path rail behind and tweak/add/move a lot of trees. . I also add a metallic stairs in the middle of Oscar bridge Ascent. - I finally understand how to manage "properly" dae with one side faces, so no more shadow errors. - I change materials on some paths and grounds to be more realistic. - Fix lot of bugs misplacements - Add more collision meshs on other daes. (still need to do trafficlights, lamps and roadSigns but I'm not sure how to manage thin meshs So maybe they will be put on no collision later) - I add a lot of new Missions/scenarios : - Test your skill on a race vs 3 AI (can be up to 9 AI) : - Gt4 race (etk-k and bastion) - Piccolina cup - Stadium super trucks ! Add prefabs to get the famous jumps on the layout ! - Gt4 qualfication format : Two lap to set the best time and beat 1:27.5, no error permitted. - Drift sessions, be careful with the wall Ai will be managed well until the end of lap 1, dunno why but Ai brainfart a lot with turn 1 at full speed for the moment.
I have only the basic diffuse Map of materials but I saw a tutorial to make basic pbr from one material it is on my list of things to Check.
It's a good map, the only issue, it's the map is not optimized, I only have 40fps with one car, when with the same setting, I can have 70fps in wcusa or in italy (I don't compare with other track like the Nürburgring because it's not fair). Btw you have make a good work !
Thanks for the feeds as usual ! Yeah I am still working on it, it's far from the smoothness of an official map but it is really better than on previous versions already ! As an imported map I work from a finish map so I can't really have a perfect thing without redo everything. I am working on PBR for some materials right now and when I will try to change trees to use those of the game I hope that it could help a bit. I also should try to incorporate basic LOD when I could, but I don't want to replace all men in public 1 by1, i'm not that dedicated and it will be on group of objects at best
Do the best has you can, if I can drive it at 60fps I will be happy (don't care if the outside of the track is ugly (or maybe make 2 version of it with one with really low details) !

For me it help me gain 25% fps ! - I tweak some lights meshs and set beamNG lights for the whole layout, coming with a script who enable/disable them depending on the current time. - Start using some pbr materials for grass, road and gravel (Not many as be done as it is not easy to update existing material to pbr) and update some part of the track to be more realistic (gravel on pavement, asphalt for street, etc) - Remove water surrounding the track and set grass instead - Lot of tiny stuff (tweaking existing DAEs, adding collision mesh for signs, traffic light, whole pits, street lights, etc) - Add races : - gt4 night race (AI not spawing with their headlights for the moment, not sure if I can do something myself to avoid this) - reverse layout race - classic grand prix race on bolide Of course, the previous gt4 race and the new one use the etk gt4 new version now. - Add two buttons near the pits (just ram them with your bumper to enable/disable) : - Enable/disable jumps on freeroam (the ones you can find on stadium super truck race) - Enable/disable night
Very good! On minor error report: in the reverse race, the gate on the S/F line is placed at a 90° angle so you have to slalom through.
Good catch, thanks ! One ctrl-s missing I guess, will fix that. What about perf for you, do you see any difference from previous build ? I guess the next update will be the 1.0 release i'm close to a stable map now, just need some feedback and some ajustment right and left, I think about releasing it for the real Grand prix (12-14 May) That give me some times for more pbr and materials tests.
I have try it, still with one car like the other time, in terms of fps it's better, but I still go down to 40fps some time :/ (from 60 to 40), So you just need to find a way to fix that and it will be perfect !
Is the drop coming while you break or randomly ? I'm not sure how I could fix this problem properly, some people talk about decal properties on material but I can't figure it out for the moment.
When I'm driving, and in general near corners, I need to make tests if you want to know which corners. But when I crash my car, I don't have any fps issue, it's fine.
I finally released the version 1 of Pau Grand Prix ! I add some minor detaills, meshs, fix last bugs and remove useless files to reduce map size.
