Made from the best German steel. lol I already fixed those. I worked a little on the values, so with the upcoming update it should be overall better and less of a tank.
most of the Herbie configs are slightly off with the small details like, The Herbie from The Love Bug has black running boards instead of white/colour matched ones, the fully loaded Herbie has teardrop mirrors instead of circular ones and it has the headlight lenses (i know there isn't a way to get rid of them rn but he never had them in the movie), as well as not having the headlight lips and i think (and i could be wrong here to be fair) most Herbie's have wider wheels and tyres then they currently have and the interior colours are off a little on at least the fully loaded Herbie. not trying to be mean about it or anything just thought i'd mention some of the things I've noticed. Edit: oh yeah and i think the fully loaded Herbie doesn't have rock guards at any point in the film.
I'm just a nerd that had fully loaded open as i was building my bug config lol (also thanks for adding the headlight lips they are really cool, are you gonna add those external ac units?)
yea, somehow the 1.3 engine makes SEVENTY horsepower at stock. which is straight up impossible for something like this
I haven't really touched the engine curves from the original version. But I agree. 180+ km/h shouldn't be possible that easy with this car. Just German steel... lol
You could reuse the Piccolina torque curves since it's mechanically the same engine, just lower the torque a bit since the devs buffed it to be less boring to drive, you can find the actual peak torque numbers on some websites
Knowing that you only work on the mod on your free time, do you have any ideia about the release of the next update? Btw, you will change the engine curves this update. or the next one?
I also am here to add on. In most of the versions, Actually every version, Herbie doesn't have stripes on his rag top. I also noticed that a stock version of Herbie was never available, so I have had to make my own in vehicle config. I also don't remember Herbie ever having mud flaps, so that is still a bit weird to me. I still believe that this mod is incredible, and your add-ons have made Beamng drive a more fun game to play. Also, shout out to vertex style for first making this beauty. Have a great day!
Hopefully, this week! The engines, however, will stay unchanged with this update. I'm not an expert on Herbie stuff, but I know there are some wrong things right now. I will address them eventually. Right now, I'd like to focus on more urgent things like the instability issues. But pointing out what's wrong really helps! Trying to see how things should be on some tiny old images is not fun. If someone is willing to compile a "Everything wrong with Herbie" list, that would make thinks a lot easier.
It's probably realistic, I mean look at the shape of it, it's short and quite narrow but the height is not any less than an average car
well, I tried to make a list of all the inaccuracies for the skins. This probably doesn't include everything, but it should do for now. 1# needs stripes on ragtop 2# doesn't need gravel guards. 3# incorrect color 4# doesnt need mud flaps 5# needs stock version 6# needs updated skins here and there 7# needs more tires than just gt radial tires. 8# fully loaded needs eye lids.
Well about the stripes, depends on which movie. There are movies with and without stripes on the ragtop.
I've never experienced rolling over in my stock 1966 bug, I think the center of gravity in this mod is too high. It's a 60s car, the only thing in the roof is the sheet steel, a head liner, and a wire and a dome light. I wouldn't think there's enough there to make it top heavy enough to roll over, the irl car weighs only 1500 pounds
Yes, currently the center of gravity is a little to heigh. This will be improved with the next update.
